Hi,
it seems that the latest beta fixed the Lightroom crash when trying to use GPU acceleration with Lightroom AI noise reduction. This is good news!
However, compared to my laptop's 1060 TI, it's slow. Processing the same image takes ~15s on laptop and ~20s on A770.
Also, while processing, the graphics card emits noises. Those aren't very high pitched and can be easily heard.
I'm on beta 4499.

szmigieldesign, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.
We are sorry to hear about this issue and we will be more than glad to assist you with this matter.
In order for us to provide the most accurate assistance on this scenario, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your system:
What is the model of your processor?
What is the model of the motherboard?
Is this a new computer?
Was the computer working fine before without showing the "slow performance" issue you are describing under the same configuration you are currently using?
If yes, when did the issue start?
Did you make any recent hardware/software changes that might cause this problem?
Which Windows* version are you using?
Does the problem happen at home or in the work environment?
To answer your question about the SSU, please attach the SSU report so we can also verify further details about the components in your platform, check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057926.html
Any questions, please let me know.

- i5-13600KF.
- TUF GAMING B760-PLUS WIFI D4 / BIOS v1002.
- This is a new PC, professionally built.
- The issue with Lightroom I'm referring to is by comparison to my old PC with 1060 3GB where the image processing using GPU was more performant and the card didn't emit any noise while doing processing.
- Windows 11 Home 22H2 (22621.1848)
I'll be happy to share the SSU generated report, but I'd rather do it in a non-public way.

szmigieldesign, Thank you very much for providing that information.
In reference to this subject, it is important to mention, that there are some reports presented related to some inconsistencies in the performance of the Lightroom application and the Intel® Arc™ A770 Graphics card, as you can confirm in the following link:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000095101/graphics.html
Intel® is now currently working on a possible solution for this scenario. As soon as I get any updates on this matter, I will post all the details on this thread.
Regards,
Albert R.

Hello szmigieldesign, I just received an update on this matter.
As an additional update on this topic and in reference to your question, we just wanted to let you know that actually, the fix for this issue is already checked-in our internal driver build.
Unfortunately, the fix didn't make it in time for the release of driver 101.4502, so we ask for a bit more patience and wait for the next 1-2 driver releases. Check back with us if the issue persists after said releases.

Hello,
this is good to hear. I'll be happy to test it on new drivers.
The current behavior is very strange, as it works with 4499 and 4502, but:
- It crashes the Lightroom on the first time of use after a driver install
- While submitting the crash report to Microsoft, it starts to work in the background
- After another Lightroom launch, it works, however, the performance is not great (I'd assume it would be way faster than my old GTX 1060) and there's the noise while processing.

Hello szmigieldesign, I just received an update on this matter.
We just wanted to let you know that we are currently working on trying to find a solution for this scenario. I already informed the outcome that you reported about testing the 4499 and 4502 driver versions to the proper department.
From our side that is pretty much what we can do right now, at this point we just need to wait for future driver releases that will contain the fix for this issue. Based on that and the fact that there is no ETA for when the drivers will be released, we just wanted to check if you agreed for us to close the case since all the information about the driver's update will be provided on our official website, where you will be able to download and install all of them?
Regards,
Albert R.

Hello szmigieldesign
We appreciate your patience. This issue should have been resolved in our latest BETA driver 31.0.101.4575, please update to that version and let us know if you experience any issues or if it gets resolved from your side as well.

Hi,
I've updated to the latest beta and the problem persists. The functionality works, but the noise being generated by the card is still there during the processing.
What I find interesting is whenever I update the A770 driver and run Lightroom AI noise reduction for the first time after the update, it'll crash. However, if I relaunch the Lightroom - everything works fine. Also, after another reboot, it's ok. It's just the first time this functionality being run after a new driver is being installed when the crash happens. Keep in mind that I always reboot after the driver install. This is super strange.

Hello szmigieldesign
The fixes on the latest driver are related to the performance in Lightroom software, the issue related to the sound coming from the GPU should be a different type of issue.
Are you able to reproduce the sound problem with any other software/game?
Please share a video showing the issue.

Hi,
I see no performance improvements in Lightroom. The processing of 12 megapixel files is still estimated for 20 seconds.
I've recorded the noises that the card makes:
https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZKUJBZY8Y9mmvBmrFGXAJxdtH9oHWbA4FX
Keep in mind that this recording is heavily processed, as I had to spectrally remove most of the fan noises. Normally the clicking isn't that loud in comparison to fans, but it can be heard nevertheless.
I've heard coil whine in several graphic cards, especially when there's a blank page with plenty of text displayed (i.e. minified HTML), but nothing similar to this sound as it's just clicking. The clicking covers most of the spectrum - it's not isolated to only a specific tone.
The sound that I've recorded is emitted only when using Lightroom's AI noise reduction. Both in the preview and in the final processing.

Also, attached you can find the sound spectrum of the file I've linked before.
Maybe that'll be helpful to isolate the source.

Hello szmigieldesign
Thank you for the information. In that case, we will need to continue looking into this issue, however, just to be safe please reinstall the latest driver 31.0.101.4575 using Display Driver Uninstaller. If possible also, reinstall the Lightroom software on your system.
Best Regards,

Apparently, I'm unable to do so as I can't enter the safe mode
I've tried all three methods described here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234
And all of them result in my PC rebooting into a state with no signal from the graphics card (the screen won't turn on).

I've managed to run DDU on normal Windows boot, and it seems that it succeeded in removing the drivers. I've rebooted the PC and installed the latest beta.
Likewise, I see no difference in Lightroom performance, and the noise is still there. Also, the app crashes the first time after the drivers are reinstalled.

are you sure the noise isnt coming from your psu?
is it 1 cable from the psu to the card with 8 pin split? or 2 seperate 8 pin cables without splitter?
my 750 watt psu was super loud when pushing 100% gpu usage with 1 cable from the psu to the dual 8 pin.
switched to two seperate 8 pin cables from my psu and the noise is 90% reduced. sparkle a770 titan here
