I play Apex in dx12 mode. This error occurs to me as soon as I enter a match. If I use dx11 mode, it will even get stuck in the lobby.

Hello @dplcz and @Norb,

Thank you for all the information provided, it is very helpful.

We re-ran our tests and were not able to reproduce the issue, the differences between our systems are the following:

The processor of the test computer is Intel® Core™ i7-11700K Processor and we have not installed the software Sound Blaster driver + tray icon and Razer Synapse + Razer Cortex.

We will continue with the investigation, and provide you with more details as soon as possible.

Hello @dplcz and @Norb

Thank you for your time.

Engine Error 0x887a0006 occurs when the game fails to launch for one of three reasons: the launcher doesn't have administrative rights, your GPU is overclocked (which Apex doesn't like), or the game files have been corrupted.

Please follow the recommendations below and let me know the results:

  • Make sure the Launcher has administrative rights.
  • Disable overclocking if your graphics card is overclocked.
  • If files are corrupted uninstall and reinstall the game

As some games are localized and perhaps this might explain why not everyone sees the issue, can you tell me the country you are playing from?

Thank you for your proposal.

1.How do I enable administrative rights? When I was using the driver 4369 , I didn't need to modify any settings.
2.I have tried disabling overclocking and even lowering the power limit, which dosen't work. The game still crashes.

3.I checked the integrity of the game through steam and there was no sending issue.

I play the game from Chinese and I found many people have this problem on Chinese media sites.

Hi,

just to give more details which may/may not help..

I am playing from Slovakia (Europe), but the game is set to english.

Regarding the latest hints from Andres:

1. it is very uncommon in my opinion to set "admin rights" on the launcher, especially if it worked until now without changing this

2. I am not overclocking the gpu

3. file corruption i kick out of the list, as I did "repair" a couple of times lately

sidenote: I run Apex Legends from the EA launcher (not Steam as dplcz does).

From my view, it must be some change introduced by the driver as I did not change anything else, only the driver.

Simply: up to a certain driver version it works, with any later driver version it doesnt.

However, I can think of a scenario where a change in the driver triggered something in the game what made it crash.

In other words, in Apex there might be some issue, which showed up with an intel ARC driver change. So theoretically it could even be the games's "fault"

Here it would help if Respawn (Apex Legends) and intel developers worked together on it. I have no idea if there is a chance for this to happen..

Hello dplcz,

Thank you for your response and for keeping us informed.

Follow the steps below to enable administrative rights:

  1. Locate the Apex Legends .exe file and right-click it, select "Properties".
  2. From this window go to the "Compatibility" tab.
  3. Check the box marked "Run this program as an administrator".
  4. Try to re-launch Apex Legends.

I tried running with administrative rights, but it didn't work. The game even crashed on loading.
