Arc B580 fans problem

Dear.
I have an Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition graphics card.
When the PC is idle, the fans on the graphics card stop, but any movement, for example, with the mouse, or windows in Win, the fan starts again. The fans cannot stay off and keep starting repeatedly for 3 seconds. The fans pulsate like this even when I am not doing anything on the PC. I think it is not good for the fans to turn on and off so often.
I tried using the Intel software, and tuning Temperature Fan, I set the fan curves so that the fan spins up to 50˚C, but it does not work. Setting the curves did not affect the fan's operation. The fan repeatedly turns on and off even at a temperature of about 46˚C. Setting the curves is unresponsive. It is a Beta version. Do you think the final version is expected to be okay??
I would also like to ask, the card consumes 20Watt at idle, which is twice as much as the competing RTX 4060. Is this normal?? Do you think Intel will fix it?? is it a HW or SW issue??
The Arc B580 Limited Edition card that I have is great, but it would like to improve the thermal management and the response of the fans to temperature.

I tested the PC again, unfortunately the temperature of 46°C is reached by ordinary work, for example in MS Office. 46°C is the standard temperature of the graphics, if I write text or do other undemanding things. But the fans work at this temperature. I would like the fans to turn on from 50°C. How can I do it ?? Unfortunately, this is not possible in IGS. When I change the curve for the fans in IGS, they always turn on at 46°C. It seems as if the temperature of 46°C is the safety temperature set by Intel and it is not possible to change the fan start from a higher temperature. My PC is i5 12400F. 48GB RAM, Motherboard B760M.

Hello Matha,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to further check this, please help provide the following details:

  1. When did you start using this Arc B580?
  2. Was it working fine before?
  3. Can you provide the specification of your power supply?
  4. What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Dear,
I bought  a new Arc B580 LE last week, then I installed it in my PC and downloaded the latest drivers. Before that I was using RTX3060 /8GB, it had the fans turned off while working in MS Office, so I didn't need to solve anything. After installing B580 I noticed that while working in MS Office the temperature of the card is 46˚C and the fans are repeatedly turning on and off. 46˚C seems high to me if I do work that does not load the GPU. I have a new 600W power supply (EVGA 600 BR).

My PC case contains two fans and is very airy. As I wrote above, B580 has a 20W consumption when the PC is idle. Which is 2x more than the previous RTX3060. Is this information enough for you, or do you need to know something else??

Hello Matha,

Thank you for the update.

To be honest, the temperature that you are getting is normal. However to further check this, kindly help provide the following details:

  1. Are you having issues with the performance of the card?
  2. Can you share a video of the issue?
  3. Please help generate the SSU logs of the system. Kindly refer to the link below for the steps

I have no problems with the card's performance,
I only use card for video editing and the performance is sufficient there.
I just wanted to say that the card's temperature during small- normal use (internet, Office) reaches 46˚C and the fans turn on at this temperature.
I wanted to say, that the adjustment of the fan curves in the IGS program (Tuning section) does not work correctly.
When I set the initial temperature for starting the fans to 50 or 55˚C, this setting does not respond to the fan speed and they always turn on at 46˚C.
In my opinion, the IGS program and the response of the fan settings are not working correctly. This is where an upgrade would be needed.

Hello Matha,

Thank you for the update.

Just to clarify, this post is a suggestion/feedback post about your experience with IGS?

If so, do you have any additional comments or suggestions for me to send it as feedback to the proper team?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Yes, it is a feedback about the IGS program for IGS team, where the Tuning section,  the part for adjusting temperature curves and fan speeds, does not work correctly.
If the fan start is set to, for example, 50 or 55˚ temperature the fans still spin at 46˚C. which is the temperature of card during normal office work.  It seems that 46˚C is the manufacturer's safety temperature and it is not possible to set the fan start from higher values.

Hello Matha,

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the IGS program, specifically the Tuning section for temperature curves and fan speed adjustments. I understand your concern about the fan starting at 46˚C, even when set to a higher threshold like 50-55˚C. It does seem likely that 46˚C is a built-in safety limit set by the manufacturer. However, I’ll need to further check this and possibly replicate this issue on my end for further review.

If there are any updates or workarounds available, I’ll be sure to let you know. Please let me know if you have any additional details or observations that could help with the investigation.

I appreciate your input.
