Hello,
I have a sparkle b580 which is not outputting displayport video on windows. Only the HDMI works, so I can only use one monitor. I think it is the same problem that this user has:
https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-ARC-Graphics/B580-DisplayPort-blank-screen/m-p/1650882
I can see the bios screen over displayport, but once windows starts there is no video out.
If I have HDMI and displayport plugged in, I can use the HDMI, and see info and change settings for the displayport monitor in windows settings and the intel software, but there is no video out to the displayport monitor.
If I use two displayport cables, I two black screens.
I removed AMD drivers with the AMD cleanup utility before installing the new intel card, then installed the WHQL arc drivers.
I have tried two working displayport cables and tested other PCs with the same monitors, with mixes of HDMI and displayport, and they work fine.
If I roll back the drivers to the microsoft basic display adapter, and plug in HDMI AND display port, only one monitor at a time works, with it preferring the displayport monitor over the HDMI.
So it is possible for the system to output over displayport, as it works in bios and with the basic microsoft driver. But once I install the intel driver displayport output no longer works at all.
I've just reinstalled the intel arc driver, and the displayport monitor turned off, and the HDMI back on again.

Hi douglas-s,
Thank you for posting in the communities!
I appreciate sharing all this information with us, this will be useful for our investigation.
Just one more question to better understand the issue, may I know if the DisplayPort is working fine before? or its already like this on the start of the purchase?
Best regards,
Earl E.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
My b580 card has has this issue from the start of purchase.
The displayport input to the monitor works with other PC and GPU.
Another thing, I can use the other monitor with display port if I plug it into the motherboard to use integrated graphics.
So, HDMI out from B580 into monitor 1, displayport out from motherboard into monitor 2 works.
Displayport only from b580 into monitor 1 - signal only in bios, no signal in windows once intel driver installed
HDMI out from b580 into monitor 1 - works
Displayport out into monitor 2 - detected by windows but no signal
Displayport only from b580 into monitor 1 on basic driver - works
HDMI only on basic driver - works

Hi douglas-s,
Thank you for patiently waiting.
I have a few clarifications with the following:
1. Is the issue occurring when using a single monitor connected directly to one display port of the graphics card?
2. Are you using straight HDMI to HDMI and DP to DP cables without any adapters?
3. What is the make and model of the monitor?
For additional troubleshooting, you can check the following articles:
- Black Screen, No Display Issue after Installing Intel® Arc...
- No Display Signal on Startup on Systems with Intel® Arc™...

Hello, thanks for getting back.
1. When a single monitor is connected directly to one displayport of the graphics card, there is no output in windows. However, there is output in the bios.
2. This was all with straight HDMI to HDMI and DP to DP cables without adapters.
3. The monitors are both phillips 242E2FA, you can see the specification here. https://www.philips.co.uk/c-p/242E2FA_00/full-hd-lcd-monitor
4. I have found a working solution which I'm going to stick with, which is connecting a displayport -> HDMI cable from the B580 to the monitors, which to my understanding just sends a HDMI signal over the displayport cable? This works. I used this cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015OW3M1W
Maybe there is something incompatible with these monitors' displayport version but I'm afraid I don't have a spare monitor to check.
Kind regards
Douglas

Hi. I have the same problem with my new B580 GPU.
I have two monitors connected. The main monitor is connected via DP, the second via HDMI (the screen does not have DP because it is a bit older). Before installing the Intel Arc drivers, the image was displayed normally on both monitors. During and after installing the drivers, the monitor connected via DP displayed color changes (blue, red, green, etc.) and the screen connected via HDMI displayed the Windows desktop normally.
PC restarted - boot screen was displayed via DP, as soon as Windows started the "color change screen" appeared again, and the desktop appeared on the HDMI monitor.
I then switched my main monitor from DP to HDMI and back again while the computer was running - suddenly the desktop was visible on the DP monitor. This continued to work after a few PC restarts, but at some point the color change screen appeared again.
And in the Intel Graphics software I can't do anything under "Displays" because as soon as I click on it, the program crashes. Could this be due to the monitor? It's not the newest, a Samsung LC24FG73 (DP version 1.4). It's just strange that it works sometimes and then not. I don't really want to get a new monitor right now.
I've already tried the tips mentioned above, but it didn't work.
The driver is the most recent one from yesterday.

Hi douglas-s,
Thank you for patiently waiting on us.
Checking on your issue, it appears that your motherboard's BIOS is dated 10/19/2022 and the latest one is 01/07/2025, you can try to update your BIOS to further troubleshoot the issue. (24 newer BIOS versions).
Can you confirm if you have tried disabling the iGPU from your AMD processor for testing?
You can also try out the suggestion of Blueliner5584 to check if there will be changes on the issue.
Best regards,
Earl E.

I returned my card one week ago. But I solved my Problem. I had to deactivate FreeSync. Then it worked. But I am not happy anyway. Had several issues with the drivers and games. Will first buy a New cpu, mainboard. Later on a New gpu. Maybe the Arc b580 again. But not Sure.
