Arc Control unable to select between graphics cards

Hello Support Community,

I currently have 2x Intel Arc A770 in my system. The problem is that inside Arc Control I cannot choose which of the graphics cards I want to edit settings for. Either the setting does not exist at all(in the Display part of Arc Control), there is one but no card is given(in the Performance part of Arc Control) or like in System Info it shows you the card but the Dropdown Menue function is grayed out aka. not working.

I have attached a fresh SSU scan of my system and 3 screenshots to show what I mean. This has been a problem with Arc Control for as long as I have been using the A770s but maybe we can finally fix this issue. Especially being able to set performance setting for the 2 cards individually would be nice to have.

My current system is nothing special, running Windows 10 Pro on an AMD Ryzen 5800X3D.

With best regards

Hi, Sliders63.

Thank you for clarifying the issues.

When installing two Intel® Arc™ GPUs on the system, Arc Control will only display information for one of them. The system information and performance tab will only show one GPU and the information for the second one cannot be seen. Please know, however, that Intel is currently investigating this issue.

In the meantime, I would like to share these steps regarding selecting/choosing the GPU:

  1. Right-click on the Desktop and select Display settings.
  2. Select Graphics settings.
  3. Click the down arrow.
  4. Specify the app type:
  5. To customize graphics performance for a Desktop (Classic) app, select the Desktop app, click Browse to open File Explorer, and navigate to the location of the desired application’s executable file.
  6. In File Explorer, select the desired application’s executable file and click Add.
  7. Select the desired application.
  8. The Graphic preference menu should appear, with the following options to choose from:

Note: Repeat steps 4 – 8 to customize graphics performance preference for another Desktop app.

Hi, Sliders63.

Thank you for posting in the Intel Communities. We would be more than glad to help you solve the issue regarding the Intel Arc Control.

I understand that you are trying to choose which of the Intel Graphics Cards you use to edit some settings especially to set performance for each 2 graphics cards, hence for us to provide you with an accurate recommendation, please provide the following information:

-Is the setup for the 2 graphics card installed in your system working before?

-Any recent changes made to the system before encountering the issues?

-If possible, I kindly request you to take and send a picture of the two graphics cards that show how you set them up. In this way, we can further check and validate the issue.

Looking forward to your response. Have a nice day ahead!

Hello Von M.

as long as I have been owning the two Arc 770, which has been several months now since I wanted to see what the Intel cards are capable of, the option to switch between the cards in Arc Control has never been working. Changes to the system in general have not been made. Usually I have 2 nvidia GPUs in my system (3070 and 3060ti) and have no problems changing settings individually for the cards. when switching between the gpus I use DDU and Windows Safe Mode to clean out the drivers.

I have added "a picture" of my Arc 770s in my system. Additionally I have added 3 screenshots from HardwareInfo showing the cards being recognized in my system. I have updated to the lasted WHQL driver but still not luck.

With best regards

Hi, Sliders63.

Thank you for answering our previous questions. Please be guided that Intel Arc® does not support GPU-to-GPU connection. However, Intel does offer a multi-GPU solution with Arc in the form of Intel® Deep Link technology. This is a combination of Intel Arc discrete GPU with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics found in 12th-generation Intel processors or newer.

Moreover, just to share with you, we have our support link where you can find the documentation regarding the Intel Arc Graphics: (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000093897/graphics.html).

Hello Von M.

I'm not trying to set up a GPU-to-GPU connection. I'm not even doing that with my nvidia GPUs, that I have usually installed in my pc.

Inside of Intel ARC Control there is no option to choose between the 2 Intel A770 GPUs, that I currently have in my system, and make settings for those GPUs individualy, since ARC Control does not have an option to do so. There is no option to have performance tuning setting for card a or card b because there is no switch to choose between them. Under Displays Intel ARC Control only shows one card with the 2 monitors connected and there is no option to switch to the other card and make settings for the other 2 displays (yes, I have 4 displays connected to my pc).

When I open a game and have the Overlay of ARC Control active the output for the stats I get is from the second card and not the first card, that runs the game. So you don't see how much vram the card is using, or how much power draw it has, etc.

That is my problem. Intel ARC Control does not understand that I have 2 Intel ARC A770 in my system, so I am unable to make settings for both cards individually. I hope that explains my problem better.

With best regards
