Arc a750 no signal after 2-10 minutes at 50% or higher gpu usage

Hi,

I recently have been experiencing an issue with the Arc a750 where if GPU usage is at 50% or more, the graphics card stops sending a signal to the monitor.

The issue started a couple weeks ago and I thought it was the power supply from 2008 that I was using. Eventually, the computer would restart instead of no signal to the monitor. I replaced the old power supply with a brand new Corsair RM850x. It went back from restarting under high load to no signal at high GPU load.

It mostly happens when playing a game (such as ARK: Survival Evolved especially) or rendering a detailed scene in blender.

 

Steps to reproduce:

Launch Ark: Survival Evolved on Steam (haven't tested with other resource intensive games)

Join any multiplayer server

Play normally for 2-10 minutes

The display should show a no signal message or go into power saving mode

 

Currently running an Intel Core i5 12600KF on an Asus TUF B760 motherboard, with 32 GB of DDR4 RAM.

Windows Version: 22H2 19043

Arc Driver Version: 101.4369

Power supply (old) Dell DPS-750LB

Power supply (new) Corsair RM850x

BIOS has been updated to version 1205. I also ran DDU in safe mode and reinstalled the graphics drivers.  The issue seems to have disappeared after following those steps.

Thank you for posting on the Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communities. I am sorry you are experiencing crashes when your Intel® Arc™ A750 Graphics gets under load.


Please share with us the following information so we can better assist:


  • Is Resizable BAR enabled on your system?
  • Was the GPU overclocked through Arc Control?
  • Are the temperatures under 90C when the GPU is under load?
  • Create a log file with the Intel® System Support Utility and attach it to your response to get more information on the hardware configuration.

I was able to fix the issue by swapping to another monitor.

The issue seems to have come back as of today. This time, the signal will cut out and not come back until I hard restart the computer regardless of GPU load.

Resizable BAR is enabled

GPU not overclocked

GPU temperatures are 40℃ at idle, and 60℃ at max load.

Thank you for sharing the information. Please let's try the following:


  • Based on the log files you provided there are a few BIOS updates that improve stability and compatibility with your motherboard. Please go to your motherboard manufacturer's website and update to the latest BIOS version. Once updated reset your BIOS settings to defaults.
  • I see you are using the latest available driver version 31.0.101.4502. Let's try doing a reinstallation of the same driver but using Display Driver Uninstaller. Also in case you had a previous NVIDIA/AMD GPU delete those drivers by changing the manufacturer in step 6.


If the issue still happens, please share with us the log files that you can get from C:\Windows\minidump. Make sure to get the files only right after a crash has happened so the errors get saved in the file.
