6739 driver, still the same. I even rolled back several releases and tried them, nothing.

Reinstall all the vc++, dx, etc distros, still no go. I even reinstalled the game itself. Same behavior.

Hello MVb590,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

I would like to know more about your system details to fully understand where the issue truly lies. Please help share the important details below that I may use for further checking:

1) Is the issue only happening with this specific game (Borderlands 2)? *Other game(s) does not have issue at all?

2) Has this game previously worked on this PC and only had issues recently?

3) If the answer to #2 is yes, were there any changes made before the issue? This could include hardware additions, software/application installations, OS and driver updates, or BIOS settings changes.

4) Can you share a short video clip showing the issue?

Additionally, I highly appreciate you sharing your system configuration so I we can fully check and provide you with an accurate fix. This could be possible by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

  • Scan: Check the box Everything.
  • Click Scan.
  • Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
  • Click Save (.txt).
  • Attach the SSU log file as you reply.

I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

Oh I am also having issues with diablo 2 as well, it will start ok, the intro video plays but the main menu screen is all garbled and displaying flicker partial pictures and crashes. This is the original latest patched lod version, not that remake whatever.

I think this is the first time I've played Bl2 with the b580, my previous 1060 6GB was flawless.

Anyway, find the attached ssu.txt.

Hello MVb590,

Thank you for sharing the SSU log file and additional important details.

Please proceed with clean installation of the latest driver, 32.0.101.6739 for Intel® Arc™ B-Series Graphics, using the DDU.

Check if the issue still happens after DDU. If issue do persists, please share a short video clip showing the issue. This will be needed for the investigation and issue replication.

I will wait for your response.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

Hello MVb590,

I'm currently addressing the issue you've encountered. Could you please provide clarification on the following points:

  1. When you mentioned the "Green" play button, were you referring to the Steam "play" button? Is that correct?
  2. When did the problem with Borderlands 2 not launching begin? Did it occur after updating the graphics driver, or was the game working fine before and only recently stopped functioning?
  3. Are there any error messages displayed when you attempt to open and play Borderlands 2?

Regarding the other game, "Diablo 2," please start a new thread for that issue so we can investigate it separately.

I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

So it turns out I had the same problem no matter the graphics card. I ended up resolving the issue, I ran Dependencies_x64_Release (from github), and it told me it's missing d3dx9_43.dll which I extracted from the Jun2010_d3dx9_43_x86.cab file in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Redist\DXRedistCutdown folder and extracted that file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Win32

I hope that assists you guys and gives you another tool to use.

I now have a great video card from intel, the b580 and the last of what I consider the gamers cards series from nvidia, the 4060. Don't worry, not entirely giving up this intel card, I am definitely keeping it and looking forward to the C series. What's important to me right now is my game compatibility should be sorted as I don't tend to play new aaa games.

Hello MVb590,

Thank you for detailing your experience and the solution you discovered. It's valuable to learn that using Dependencies_x64_Release identified the missing d3dx9_43.dll, and extracting it from the Jun2010_d3dx9_43_x86.cab file effectively resolved the issue. This insight will undoubtedly benefit others encountering similar challenges.

The The missing DLL file, specifically d3dx9_43.dll, is typically related to the game's requirements and how the DirectX runtime is managed on the system. It's best to check with the game developer and/or your system manufacturer if the issue reoccurs.

I'm pleased you're holding onto the Intel card and looking forward to the upcoming C series. If you have further insights or updates down the line, please feel free to share them.

I will now proceed in closing this thread. Should you need assistance in the future, please submit a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Sincerely,

JeanetteC.

I'm having the same issues. I had the game working just fine when I installed my new Sparkle B580 OC a little over a week ago after I did DDU for a fresh Intel Arc Graphics install. The Intel Graphics Software console did not install, nor did it install on my server where I installed a B570 OC with a fresh DDU install as well.  Had to extract the installer for Intel Graphics Software console to get it installed and working.

Next time I went to run Borderlands 2, just crashed over and over.  This is the error that shows up in Event View within my Windows 11 Pro install (latest Windows updates installed through today, 7/8/2025):

Faulting application name: Borderlands2.exe, version: 1.0.257.45254, time stamp: 0x62e434e8

I have tried all of the following (reboot at least once, generally multiple times between each try) and the game invariably breaks or the fix does nothing:

-Multiple DDU goes blasting Intel Arc Graphics' driver and reinstalling, game will run once or twice and then fail until reinstall.

-Disconnecting all but 1 monitor.

-Turning off all effects in game, reducing resolution, and limiting FPS.

-Changing color depth and format from defaults within Intel Graphics Software for all displays.

-Verifying d3dx9_43.dll is present, and even replacing with a newly extracted copy.

-Reinstalling Borderlands 2.

-Verifying all game files within Steam.

-Reinstalling Steam client.

-Enable varying Frame Synchronization, FPS limiter, and Low Latency Mode settings within Intel Graphics Software (each individually, none help game run).

Based on the Event Viewer error always stating the same culprit (igd9trinity32.dll), 99% sure it's just a driver issues that us consumers can't fix.

Thank for any help!
