Darktide rendering issue, pixelation

This problem occurs with FSR Native aswell as every level of XeSS.

Setting the GI to High fixes the issue on some surfaces, but not all.

RTGI also resolves this issue on some surface, increasingly with GI quality, similar to non-RTGI.

Viewing angle also seems to play a role.

AO quality does not impact this issue as far as I can tell.

Non-GI Light Quality does not seem to have an impact.

Volumetric Fog Quality does not seem to have an impact.

SSR Quality does not seem to impact this issue.

The GPU also chokes on fire/flame weapon effects.

Hi essi2,

Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.

1. Was this working fine before or is the issue there from the start?

2. Is the issue isolated to Darktide?

3. Which digital gaming platform are you using?

4. If possible, please attach a short video clip wherein we can see the "chokes on fire/flames".

I hope to hear from you soon!

Best regards,

1. This was not an issue encountered on other GPUs and it was present at first boot  with the B580

2. I have not seen this in any other game with the B580 yet

3. I play Darktide via PC Gamepass

4. I don't have the time to clip the specific issues, but this is the VOD of me testing a few games including Darktide with the B580 Testing the Sparkle Intel Arc B580 part 1 Darktide starts at 25:30 ish

Hi essi2,

Thank you for sharing this information.

For us to replicate the issue in our test lab for a closer look, please gather the data below and submit it here.

  1. Go to https://www.capframex.com/download and download the latest version of CapframeX.
  2. Go to https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html and download the latest version of RTSS.
  3. Unzip both installers and install them.
  4. Launch CapFrameX, and then close it. This is why it creates the user configuration folder.
  5. Download and unzip the file OverlayEntryConfiguration_0.json (attached in this post) with the recommended RTSS configuration.
  6. Paste this file to %userprofile%\Documents\CapFrameX\Configuration.
  7. In the Capture tab, set the "Capture time" to 0. This is to remove the preset limit on capture time.
  8. In the Overlay tab, uncheck "Auto-Disable OSD" and click the save icon.

Capturing the Performance Data:

  1. Open CapframeX and do not minimise or close it.
  2. Open the game and go to the part of the game where you need to reproduce the issue. You should see the RTSS overlay in the top left corner of your screen, with the status "<game name> ready to capture...".
  3. Press F11 to start capturing data and reproducing the issue. The status in the overlay will change to "Recording frametimes XX s".
  4. Once you have reproduced the issue, press F11 to finish the data capture. The status in the overlay will change to "Processing data.".
  5. Back to CapFrameX, you can find all the data captures in the left panel of the Analysis tab. Clicking on any one of these captures will display the results on the right.
  6. To export the captured data as a JSON file, right-click the capture and click on "Copy/paste recording file(s)".

If you encounter any difficulties in finding the %userprofile%\Documents\CapFrameX\Configuration directory, you may create a new folder named 'Configuration' within the CapFrameX folder.

For more information: Need help? Reporting a bug or issue with Arc GPU? - PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!

I hope to hear from you soon so we can start the replication and get to the bottom of this.

Hi Jed,

I don't have the B580 in my system anymore and won't be putting it back into to test any more games unless some of my budget minded friends or family ask me to specifically test a game for them on the B580 before they make any purchasing decisions.

I'm also unsure why would need the CapFrameX data for a issue that is related to the rendering/lighting of the game and not a performance issue, unless you are specifically asking for a CapFrameX capture of the combat/weapon effects that caused the card to "choke" I'm sorry I won't be able to provide that at this time.

Hi essi2,

I understand your position on this. For further troubleshooting, could you please try the latest driver version 32.0.101.101.6256? Make sure to use DDU and perform clean installation. Should you encounter the same graphics issue, please let me know.
