Destiny 2 Game freeze with drivers version 6647 and the recent 6651

Hello, First of all, English is not my first language, so please escuse any syntax or grammatical errors.

I have this issue since the 6647 update, and the recent 6651 too.
It can happen randomly when i'm opening the character menu where i can change my equipement. Sometimes it can happen in the first time, sometimes after several times. 
No issue in the gameplay itself, the freeze happen when i'm opening a menu, The game freeze but the sounds are still playing.

I've rolled back to version 6559 and the issue is completly gone, it's a temporary solution, tho not a good one on the long term.

I've run a SSU and i joined it in this forum post, The driver version is 6559, but i could run one with the most recent driver after a Freeze of Destiny 2 if needed.

Thank you for posting in the community, and no worries at all. I appreciate you sharing detailed information on how you isolated the issue and when the freezes occurred. I have a few questions and requests to help us address this matter:


  1. Have you tried using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove the driver before installing a new one?
  2. Could you share a video recording of the freezing issue?
  3. Does the freezing occur on the game menu when you first open the game?


Additionally, could you help me by generating a dump file for this freezing issue? Please follow the steps in this link to replicate the issue. Once the dump file is created, please send it to me.

Hello and thank you for your answer.

Point by point : 

1. I did not used the DDU, only did clean installations of new drivers, will give it a try.
2. After installing the most recent driver again, i will try to replicate the issue and share it with a video
3. It can happens at the first time i'm opening the character menu, or after a few times, there simingly is no precise way i can replicate the freeze 100% of the time.


I will do what you asked, during the day, i come back to you once done with the files/videos.

Probably good news? 

Having not yet tried with a clean install with DDU, i tried the newest driver version 6653 and the issue seems to be resolved.

I've been trying to replicate the issue for a good 10 minutes now and i seem to not be able to make the game freeze again. I've tested in a variety of locations with a variety of menu screens ( inventory, destinations, eververse, etc).

Here's an example in the nether : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTdDxRxcRCE ( one of the activity, just spamming inventory and vault ) From now, the freeze should have occured.

I'll be keeping you updated if it happens again, with a video.

Ok,

The issue is still there, tho seems to be rarer, i was doing stuff and the same crash occured when coming from my subclass menu to the inventory menu as showned in the video.

I've tried a complete clean install using DDU, and the issue is still there.

Thank you for trying the DDU. It appears that exiting the character menu results in the game freezing. Before I proceed with further investigation, I realized I forgot to ask for your in-game graphics and display settings. Could you please share a screenshot of them? This will help me accurately replicate and investigate the issue.

Any Update? I am having the same problem. Sometimes its 20 minutes in and sometimes its 2 hours. No other game it does this. Just dont want to be doing anything important and the game freezes and i have to reset. Other than that, the game is playable just not ideal.

New driver 6881, And bug still present, it renders the game completly unplayable.

Can we  expect a fix or just say goodbye to Destiny 2 on an Arc770 ?
