Hello,
After updating my drivers to 5590 I noticed that there would be an intermittent screen darkening while playing FFXIV, I'm not sure how to best describe it but it is like blinking your eyes, except on the monitor. It happens for a brief moment, maybe a second, then it goes back to normal.
It might be tied to the FPS setting in the game, as I had it at uncapped frames. When setting it to 60 FPS the issue mostly disappeared, it would still occasionally crop up in story dialogue interactions.
When rolling my drivers back to 5522, the problem appears to have disappeared, even if the FPS settings in game are uncapped. So something you all did between 5522, or perhaps even earlier as I never noticed the problem before, and 5590 broke something for FFXIV.
I don't have anything else I'd like to include, just what I was able to verify. I hope you all look into this since there is an expansion for the game coming out on the 28th. Thank you for your time and I hope you all have a good day.

Hello Drangueforde,
Thank you for posting in the communities. To better understand why this issue is occurring in the system, please share with us your SSU logs. Please also tell us more about your display configuration such as the monitor and cable used. Lastly, does the flick happen randomly or on a specific scenario in the game? If you can share a short recording, we would really appreciate it as well. I will be waiting for your reply.

Hello,
I've included the requested SSU logs. My display configuration is 2560 x 1440, which is the recommended for this monitor. I have it set to 164 Hz for refresh rate. The primary monitor is an Acer EI322QUR, the cable being used is a stock DP cable that came with it.
The flicker occurs randomly while on the 5590 drivers, if I set the FPS in game to 60, it happens less frequently. Rolling back my driver to 5520 eliminated nearly all instances of this, regardless of what FPS is set to in the game settings.
I'm unable to provide a video because the game is currently in maintenance for the big expansion update and the log in queues after it is back up will likely be long. But how I described it is pretty much the best way I can describe it, like blinking your eyes but on the monitor. Like it is trying to adjust to something, but then doesn't.

Hello Drangueforde,
Thank you for sharing the logs. Upon checking, I can see that the BIOS can be updated to version 2007. However, before updating, I would like to ask, does the issue happen with other Display and HDMI ports? Is the random flickering happening in your BIOS as well or only on the game Final Fantasy 14? If you can share with us a screenshot of the game settings, we will really appreciate it as well. I will be waiting for your reply.
