FPS Drop and Screen Flickering on A750 32.0.101.5972

System
AMD5700X
MSI X370
RAM 32GB
Arc A750

I switched from 1060 6GB to A750, used DDU, and did Windows 11 clean install multiple times currently running 24h2. I tested valorant, cs2, pubg, black squad and spectre divide. in all the games I have seen sudden fps drops and once it drops, it hardly recovers. in black squad, I am facing screen flickering and made it unplayable. in most of the cases I found my 1060 provides me much better and more consistent fps than the a750. i giving me sudden lags and sometime screen freeze and in sometime it seems there are input latency issues. if anyone have any solution like any special settings or 3rd party tools that can help as I did all windows performance optimizations but it seems the same. i tried installing environment for ollama on ubuntu 24.04 and there I'm not getting proper resources to utilize this. only think it can does decent is av1 encoding 3 times faster than my CPU. if I got get any fixes or guides soon I will switch to nvidia again as its like plug and play for me.

Hello HiddenMist,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

I would like to know more about your system details to fully understand where the issue truly lies. Please help provide the actual system device (MSI X370) that you have. What are the currently installed BIOS firmware and graphics drivers? Additionally, we highly appreciate you sharing your system configuration so we can fully check and provide you with an accurate fix. This could be possible by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

  • Scan: Check the box Everything.
  • Click Scan.
  • Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
  • Click Save (.txt). Attach the log file as you reply.

Moreover, please check and/or share the following details:

1) Check and confirm that the Resizable BAR or Smart Access Memory is enabled for optimal performance in all applications.

2) Make sure that there are no pending Windows Updates.

3) Share a short video showing the issue. Use Intel Arc Control to capture screenshots or a video showing the issue (FPS drops and flickering).

4) For performance issues:

  • Describe the performance issue as best as you can.
    • Per example: FPS drop when entering ‘x’ or ‘y’ section.
  • Provide screenshots or describe the graphics settings used in-game.
  • Submit CapFrameX capture data (.json files) reproducing the issue.
    • Capture data at least 3 times to define a good performance baseline.

Dear Jeanette,
I have followed most of the top yt tutorials for maximizing performance but still, it's not fixing these issues. I have added the files as you asked. There are some difficulties with obs settings with arc so I will provide videos later. You will have some context if you go through the CapFrameX files and my narrative.

1. PUBG
I have used ultra setting @1080p with 100 scales and dx12. most of the time if I go downhill or find multiple enemies or just all on a sudden fps where go below 76 even close to 60 and hardly recover. normally it stays around 95.

2. Valorant
Though it's a CPU-bound game I used to get 250-300 fps on the highest setting and 1% low around 200 with my previous GPU. With a750 I get around 220 then it starts getting below 200 and sometimes close to 120.

3. Black Squad
I couldn't record it with obs even with screen capture mode so had to use the mobile camera.
Flicker video link: https://youtu.be/dqgsLdeFJRk

4. Spectre Divide
Just see the below 60 fps

In general usage, I sometimes see the screen freeze randomly when I try to move the window, especially Chrome yt tabs.

If you play competitive games you can understand the frustration when you suddenly lose around 30% fps in a close-combat situation.
