Game crashing while playing Crab Champions on ARC A770 LE

Apparently Intel ARC has problems with the game Crab Champions (Unreal Engine 4) from Steam .

After some time, the game freezes either in the game or in the menu and you can no longer make any entries.

Sometimes you can't return to the desktop either.

But there are no graphics problems.

Driver used: 4664

There are no problems with an AMD Radeon RX 6800.

System used:

Intel Core i9 10900X
Asrock X299 Taichi
32 GB DDR4 3200Mhz Ram
Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition / AMD Radeon RX 6800
Resizable Bar activated
BeQuiet 730W Power Supply
Windows 11

Based on the information you have shared. We recommend you run the Display Driver Uninstaller to eliminate all drivers and leftover files from previous driver versions, then install driver 31.0.101.4824. Check How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver for instructions.

 

In case the issue remains, please provide us with the following:

  • When did the issue start?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
  • Is this the only game affected by the crashing/freezing problem?
  • Is there any error message when the game closes? If so, please provide us with a screenshot of the error message.

Thank you for your feedback @Jean_Intel,

The freezing happens after about 15-20 minutes of play.

I uninstalled the old driver with DDU and installed the 4824 instead.
I then uninstalled the game and reinstalled it via Steam. No change. The problem persists.

A window opened once where the error could be forwarded to EPIC. But the window did not give a detailed description of the error.

"Would you like to forward the problem to Epic? Yes / No " That was it.

We understand that you received an error message when the game closed. However, to further look into this matter and look for more details on the error message you received. Please provide us with a screenshot of the error message.

 

We also want to ask for a video recording of your issue. Note that this would help us to properly replicate the issue in case it is necessary.

Hi Intel Crew,

The game continues to freeze randomly. Always when using an Intel Arc A770 LE graphics card. Latest driver 4826

The error does not occur with an AMD Radeon RX 6800.

Based on our research, we found out that the game is still in early access and hasn't been officially released yet. So, we suggest reaching out to the developer since the developer is working to implement the latest details, and the developer builds will get updated first.
