CPU: Intel i5 13600k
MB: ASUS Prime Z790-P D4
RAM: 32GB

Freezing Issue
The game freezes randomly and the task manager doesn't say the game has crash, and neither the CPU or RAM was overloaded. The only thing functioning for the game is the OST playing in the background. I have checked both CPU and GPU temperature, both were averaging around 60 Celsius so overheating shouldn't be the issue.
I never have an FPS drop in the game, only random freeze that I am forced to use task manager to close it. This issue has occur to me since the previous Granblue Fantasy Versus, and it happens way more frequently(Didn't play for long). For the newer installment, it happens fewer times but still freezes quite often. I cannot pinpoint when do the game freeze since it is extremely random. Sometimes during matches, sometimes during menu selection but mostly crash in training mode(due to the amount of time I spent in training). Sometimes the game freeze after a long session, sometimes it freezes within 30 minutes.
This game uses DirectX 11 according the steam. I know the Intel Arc still need some work for DirectX 11 games so I am not sure if this could be the issue.
I also have a dual monitor setup, main(2k) one using the DP port and the secondary(1080p) is the HDMI port. I'm uncertain if this could be the issue but I mention this since my DP monitor randomly disconnects and reconnects but not often. (The game did not crash during the disconnection of the DP monitor.)
I have 50+ hours of playtime for Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising.
Other Games
The following games also does not have overload or overheat problems.
I have also played Tekken 7 but I have only have the game freeze three to four times in my hundred hours of playthrough.
Deadlink is one of those games that actually has similar issues like Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, but I only have 20 hours of playtime.
Other Games I played but never freeze or crash
Street Fighter 6(300hours), Counter Strike 2 (50hours), Elden Ring(40 hours)
Hi-Fi Rush (20hours) Sifu, & Neon White (10 hours)
The photos attached below are my graphic settings:
Please kindly investigate this issue, thank you!

Even if you use the 5186 driver, the same 1209 line error appears in games using Unreal Engine Direct 11. We are checking whether the same error occurs in Grand Blue, but for now, it appears that there is a problem with Unreal Engine Direct 11.
Similar symptoms have been reported in other people, but I wonder if Intel is insufficiently researching this issue.

Hi Jean,
I think I found the issue in this title. Similar to same issue with Enshrouded, if you set the game options graphics to 'Ultra' the game will crash. A clear example of this is in the game mission below. 'I See a Bloody Vision'. The intro boss cutscene with ultra textures can't be rendered properly and it automatically crashes due to this. Related to same with Enshrouded intel issue below.
Granblue Fantasy Relink Clear issue for Texture 'Ultra': https://granbluefantasyrelink.wiki.fextralife.com/I+See+a+Bloody+Vision

Hello everyone,
Thank you for testing the game with our latest drivers. Since the issue continues to happen with the latest driver, we suggest you contact the game developer for further assistance. We have not been able to replicate this issue internally, which indicates that the problem may be related to the graphics driver. However, if the game developer determines that the issue is related to the graphics driver, we will continue helping you on this matter.
Best regards

Let me sort out this issue.
Even Intel was unable to resolve the cause of the Line 1209 error that occurs on Intel Arc graphics cards in Unreal Engine Direct 11. Therefore, users experiencing this problem should contact the game developer who developed the game with Unreal Engine to find a solution.
This same problem can no longer be resolved because Intel has not been able to replicate the problem, so if you are experiencing this problem, you have three options:
1. Contact Epic, the maker of Unreal Engine, to resolve the issue (Intel does not do this).
2. Use it in direct 12 mode. For Steam, just add the -D3D12 option.
3. Just change your graphics card to GeForce or Radeon.
Users who are experiencing this problem have no other options, so please choose and resolve it on your own.

^ I am getting that exact same error in granblue fantasy versus rising
I also notice others are getting it with Arc in other UE4 games
This seems to be an issue with Arc and UE4

This is an opinion that Intel has given up on issues related to Unreal Engine and Intel ARC, noting that Intel itself has no relevance. What can we do if Intel, the manufacturer, is giving up?

Yes it seems strange that Intel cannot fix this issue, clearly it is an Unreal Engine issue how is it that Intel has no inside contact with Epic Games? or any inside contact with Arc System Works which I believe is the developer of Granblue Versus Rising there is also this website cause CyGames is also a developer of this game.
https://rising.granbluefantasy.jp/en/contact
How is this even possible? the official statement from intel is this
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000096313/graphics.html
Resolution
- Clean install the graphics driver to the latest version on Download Center. For guidance, How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.
- Update the BIOS to the latest version. Contact the Motherboard Manufacturer for installation steps.
- Update Windows to the latest version.
- Reinstall game.
- If the issue persist, contact the game developer for further recommendations
NO JUST NO this is NOT a resolution, this is a GENERIC copy and paste response that every company uses for EVERY Game that never works, this was clearly written by Chat GPT or something.
And contact what game developer? I just submitted a bug report to Arc System Works and CY Games
https://www.arcsystemworks.com/support/
https://rising.granbluefantasy.jp/en/contact
I encourage others to do it please note Arc System Works does not have an option to submit a bug report for Granblue so I selected GG Strive then said I have a issue with Granblue
I have a gut feeling this is a Intel Driver Issue.
Besides shouldn't Intel have contact with these Developers, like much better contact than us plebs do?
We all know the reason Intel CPU beat AMD for all these years is because Intel has inside links with these developers
Just like Nvidia has inside links with all the Devs its no secret how they manage to beat AMD in performance, they contact the devs internally and get them to optimize games for Intel and Nvidia.

I also agree with this part.
Unreal Engine clearly has some unknown problem with Direct11 and Intel Arc. The only hint is the code unreal engine lowlevelfatalerror line 1209.
I am dissatisfied that Intel is not doing this when they need to contact Epic to find out the meaning of this code and investigate the cause.
This problem has been suggested by several users, but it does not seem to be a problem that can be ignored just because it cannot be reproduced.
I am concerned that problems occurring in Unreal Engine, the world's most widely used engine, will be neglected like this.

It's weird that Intel already focuses on the next generation of Intel GPUs when the current one has so many issues and i'm just so tired of hearing "sorry can't do much please contact developers thx". I've been using Nvidia Cards for more than a decade before and have not experienced something like this.
Past months releases were almost all a terrible experiences on Arc GPUs, like Palworld crashes unless you use specific launch commands, Enshrouded crashes on High Settings, AAA Games released last year still run poorly and so on.
This is just so frustrating and its beyond my understanding why they put so little effort into fixing these things and i'm honestly thinking about gathering all these issues, send them to Tech Influencers like Gamers Nexus, hope they mention it so Intel is forced to step up their game because nobody is gonna buy the next gen if they learn how they treat the current one.

Intel fired most of their staff recently, every company is into the whole tech layoff bandwagon trend it seems.
Maybe this is why their driver team is so slow to fix things? strange since this should be their number 1 priority.
Do they have what 6 people or something on this team? and if so are you telling me Intel cannot hire more people on a 2 year contract to get their drivers into better shape? Intel cannot afford to build a few extra low budget PCs with some i3 and cheap motherboards so the extra staff can use to help with drivers?
I have been using Radeon GPU since ATI days of Far Cry 1 and Need for Speed Underground and I have never had this much issue with drivers, the only game I ever had issues with was my Radeon 9700 PRO in Far Cry 1 which ATI eventually fixed in early 2000s.
In stark contrast here we have Intel unable to play games on Unreal Engine 4 without crashing, very very clearly an issue with Intel Drivers and Unreal Engine, why can't Intel ask Epic Games to help fix this issue? Tim Sweeny is pretty open and vocal about lots of things he would never refuse to help.
I suspect the problem is much worse than this, I think Intel is understaffed and the staff are underpaid I cannot think of anyother reason why the most important thing on the planet which is drivers are so slow, ATI had less money than Intel and they were NEVER this bad.
Amd still has less money than Intel and my friend gets ZERO issues whatsoever with his RX 7900 XTX GPU it just works not even a single driver issue.
And we have Intel a much larger company than AMD and cannot fix a SERIOUS issue that CLEARLY has issues with Unreal Engine 4 in general. Intel says contact developer, most of these developers are just using Unreal Engine as is, they aren't changing any source code in UE4 or UE5 they are using it as Epic provided it because it's designed to just work
Granblue versus Rising is a simple game it's 2D and very straight forward there isn't anything the Devs can do, but there is something that Intel or Epic can do, but this is more an Intel issue than anything else.
Another thing how is it Intel has developed a GPU that performs the worse on the most used Engine in the world?
Th performance of Remnant 2 on Intel Arc is embarrassing, read any benchmark on any review site and you will see ARC is terrible at Unreal Engine 5
And if you complain about this Intel will respond with "Please post your System Specs" NO JUST NO how can you not understand basic English? how can your reading comprehension be THIS bad?
No one is saying that Remnant 2 is having "problems on their PC" people are saying Intel GPU is the worst out of all the competitors when it comes to Remnant 2 the A770 can barely compete with a stock RX 6600 NON XT
It falls between a 3050 and 3060 in Remnant 2.
This is what people are saying nobody is saying they can't run Remnant 2. They are saying Intel needs to provide a performance uplift to Remnant 2 like you did with other games 30% here and there.
But intel has not once mentioned anything for Remnant 2, why is this? Remnant 2 is Unreal Engine 5 is it that Intel is afraid of optimizing drivers for Unreal Engine?
How come AMD and Nvidia doesn't have this issue?

Even if you delete it with DDU and reinstall it with the 5186 driver, even if you update the motherboard driver, an error will occur in Grand Blue.
I got an error in the content shop.

It just occurred to me that Intel may NOT be testing the correct game
I know Intel says they are testing this on their end and not getting any error
HOWEVER there are 2 versions to this game that look identical
1) Granblue Fantasy Versus
2) Granblue Fantasy Versus RISING
The second one was released late 2023 and features larger roster and full cross play with PS4 and PS5 and rollback netcode.
It is VITAL that you guys check with your driver testing team to ensure they are actually testing Granblue Fantasy Versus RISING edition
It sells for $50 On Steam
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2157560/Granblue_Fantasy_Versus_Rising/
^ THIS is the Game intel is supposed to be testing NOT the original one that came out years ago.
I can only assume Intel is using the Legal Steam Version they bought
I am using the STEAM version.
I am currently testing it with XMP disabled and RAM set to Auto as requested by the discord team and I even disabled multi threading on the CPU for good measure, I will report back to state if it works.

It is very likely that Intel will not respond even if you reply further here. This is because Intel closed the thread.
But I am very interested in this part. If you get any results, please reply.

So I am on intel insiders discord and they told me to disable XMP profiles and set ram to Auto
This has not worked
But I do notice if I force the game to run in DX12 with -dx12 command on steam launch it won't crash although interestingly it was originally crashing last week and the only fix was DXVK from github
But disabling XMP has not fixed the issue
I feel this may be one of those cases where one day eventually intel will release a new driver and it will accidentally fix the problem or Cygames might
Right now adding -dx12 launch option to steam to force it to run at DX12 seems to be a temporary solution as it has not crashed for me in 8 hours of running it in training mode, normally it will crash a lot quicker in DX 11
I mean at least there are work around but the fact that this game cannot run default out of the box on DX 11 on Arc GPU is concerning for future buyers of Arc
On discord the intel insider reps said they are running this game constant testing for hours and are not experiencing any crashes which I find weird
How come we here are getting crashes then?
BTW do you guys have XMP profile disabled or enabled? I have no idea why Intel recommended to disable this but it has NOT fixed the issue.
Are you guys getting any crashes when running it in DX12 forced?

It is said that Intel has reported an issue with an error occurring when playing the game for a long time in Palworld (Unreal 5 Engine Direct 11) while updating the Intel driver. If this is resolved, it is expected that the existing Unreal Engine Direct 11 issues will be resolved.
KNOWN ISSUES:
Intel® Arc™ A-Series Graphics Products:
• Starfield* (DX12) may experience an intermittent application crash while launching the game.
• Helldivers 2* (DX12) may experience application instability using certain display panels when opening the
game options.
• Palworld* (DX11) may experience an intermittent crash during extended gameplay sessions.
• Dead by Daylight* (DX11) may experience an application crash during gameplay.
• Topaz Video AI* may experience errors when using some models for video enhancement.

There doesn't seem to be an error in the recently released Intel 5330 driver. What do others think?
