Hi all
I decided to upgrade my laptop using oculink
I can’t connect a video card, the system doesn’t see it and the driver isn’t installed. What could be the problem?
I set the BIOS and Windows to work only through a discrete video adapter.
Asus laptop with Ryzen 6800h and Nvidia 3060
In general, the system immediately saw that there was a new device and offered to install the video driver, but it did not install smoothly, there were some errors. And now I can’t even reinstall it, the system doesn’t see the video card...
I think the problem is with driver.
For my tasks this card interesting to use for rendering, but its impossible

Hello mksn,
We have confirmed from our engineers that the Intel® Arc™ A770 Graphics is optimized for desktop use and not for eGPU use. You may visit this article for reference Intel® Arc™ A-Series Graphics – Desktop Quick Start Guide. Here is the link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091128/graphics.html
However, we want to check on this issue further and, to get a better understanding of your system configuration to check if this setup is possible, please provide the missing key information here:
1) Is the Nvidia 3060 pre-installed on this Asus laptop with Ryzen 6800H?
2) If I am seeing this correctly, is the Oculink connected to your ASUS laptop's HDMI port and the other end to the ARC A770's (PCIe)?
3) Provide the exact model or please download Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe. *this will help us check your system details for further checking.
- Scan: Check the box Everything.
- Click Scan.
- Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
- Click Save (.txt file) and attach as you reply.
We will wait for your reply.
Best regards,
Jeanette C.

Hi , now i see this message, I am sorry for delay
1) Is the Nvidia 3060 pre-installed on this Asus laptop with Ryzen 6800H?
2) If I am seeing this correctly, is the Oculink connected to your ASUS laptop's HDMI port and the other end to the ARC A770's (PCIe)?
1-yes its my discrete card in this laptop , also i have radeon integrated card
2-I tried it in different ways, the card is simply determined randomly sometimes in different situations, but it never works stably
I even ordered a new power cable from the Chinese on their advice, but it didn’t help.
I have attached a text file of the system scan
If there is no answer then I will create a new topic

In general,
Do I have a chance to make your video card work?
Or is this pointless and I don’t have to waste time and effort and should buy a normal card? (N////a)

And another question :
Maybe you should ask Intel marketers to write in large text on the video card or in the description that “THIS IS A RAW UNFINISHED PRODUCT! YOU CANNOT USE AS A NORMAL VIDEO CARD FROM NVIDIA OR RADEON! YOU BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
For example, I didn’t know about this, like 90% of normal users. Or I could buy Nvidia. And it would be better to do so!
