Intel A770 LE Win11 no displayport after driver 4578

Hello community,

after the installation of every driver after version 4578 (or 4577 WHQL) my displayports stopped working. I have two identical monitors (30" HP ZR30w) on both displayports.

With driver 4578 (and every driver since I got my card in March) they work flawlessly, but with any later driver they give just a blank screen when switching into Windows .

HDMI is working, but since the monitors only support DVI and DP and the card has just one HDMI port and a converter DP -> HDMI is not working, I would very much prefer to use both DP ports again.

When I DDU the newer driver and reinstall 4578, everything is working again.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Torkum73

Hello Jean O.,

I got a mail from your colleague <Removed>. and I did a fresh install of driver 4885.

This solves my problem with the DP not functioning on my HP ZR30w monitor.

Thank you and your team very much for your efforts.

Best regards,

Hello Torkum73,

Thank you for posting in the Intel Communities. We would be more than glad to help you.

We would like to inform you that there is a new driver update, the new driver is version 31.0.101.4672. We recommend you install this driver since it is always recommended to keep your system up to date. Before you install the driver, we recommend you run the Display Driver Uninstaller program to eliminate all previous driver versions and residues from your system.

In case the issue remains, we would like to further review this matter internally. However, we want to have more details about your system, so please create another system report using the Intel System Support Utility (Intel SSU).

  • Download the Intel SSU
  • Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel SSU will take you to the "Summary View."
  • Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
  • To save your scan: click on "Next"; then "Save."

Hello Jean,

thank you for your reply.

I took the SSU info, DDU'ed the 4578 driver, rebooted and installed the 4672.

Same result.

hdmi (with DVI Adapter) is working, Displayport is not.

Even at the end of the installation of the driver, both monitors switched off and just blinked their status LED.

They do not go into power saving mode. They blink blue like, perhaps there is still something, but the monitor cannot interpret it? Out of range?

Also I do not hear my distinct sound of device disconnection, like when I pull the cable off of the A770.

When I switched the input source to DVI, the picture was back and I could restart my computer.

I took the SSU readings of before and after 4672.

Interesting, that the SSU is not able to identify my CPU? It is a Ryzen7 5800X.

I hope this information can help you identify my problem. If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Torkum73

Hello Torkum73,

We appreciate the information you shared. Since the issue remains after updating the driver to the latest version and eliminating all driver leftovers with the DDU, we will proceed to look into this matter. We will be posting back as soon as we have more details.

Best regards,

I have exactly the same problem with my ARC 750 and one zr30w, attached with DP.  Even the UHD770 internal graphics stops working (I'm using the ARC for SYCL and the UHD for display). The Monitor reports a signal, but one it cannot display. Blue LED slowly blinking: No supported video mode.

I have reported this to Intel here in the Forum, and they are investigating the issue, but no solution yet:

https://community.intel.com/t5/Graphics/Monitor-not-detected-properly-and-reports-incompatible-signal/m-p/1519154#M121756

So, I'm not the only one having this issue...

Hello Jean O,

the problem persists in version 4824.

DDU of 4578, restart.

No problem with displayport.

During installation of 4824 the screen switches off and starts blinking "no signal" or "out of range" like ergo70 reported.

I took DxDiag and GCC reports before and after 4824 (via hdmi).

Hope this helps you to understand the problem.

Best regrards,

Hello!

I have the exact same issue.
After Driver Ver. 4577 my second monitor went black(it was connected via DP------>and worked fine before).
Reinstall 4577 and the monitor works again.
Only workaround is to connect the monitor from HDMI to DVI with an adapter cable.
This results in very bad image quality(i bought a variation on high end cables to test DP>HDMI, DP>DVI, HDMI>DVI ).
If the monitor is connected via DP (with every newer Driver above Ver. 4577) then the monitor stays black and a generic monitor is detected by the system but stays black.

Whatever has ben done to DP after Driver 4577 ... please UNDO IT!

Regards

Erich
