OK so um just to update on how I am progressing with my issue, since intel hasn't offered any support thus far xd
I now believe I have managed to install the latest drivers (.4669) but I do feel a little uncomfy about how I did it, I hope it will work ok.
Basically instead of just running the application and letting it install the drivers, I instead extracted it (bc ig the application is more like a hidden zip file or somethin?) so you could see its actual constituent files and stuff - and then using device manager I manually updated the drivers by navigating to the folder labelled 'graphics' and selecting that as the source to update the drivers from.
Initially it made Arc Control very upset it said my system wasn't supported, but after restarting my PC Arc Control was happy again and was displaying that I do indeed have the latest drivers (.4669).
I haven't tried playing any games yet though, I hope everything is gonna work on that front bc I do feel a bit uncomfy about having to have done it manually like this.
You could try that, let me know if it works for you too.

Hello brookearchaeo
I see you found a workaround for his issue, installing the driver through the device manager should not cause any issues, however, if you are still experiencing issues with the installer, please feel free to open a new thread so we can assist.

Well, I've had to do a system restore on Windows because after the driver update, my 2nd monitor was not being detected correctly. It's a matching monitor to my main (BenQ BL2420PT) with the main connected via HDMI and the 2nd connected via DisplayPort. My gfx card is the Arc A750.
