Card: Arc A770 Bifrost
Processor: 5800x3d "latest chipset drivers and bios"
Graphics Driver Version: 32.0.101.6653 "Installed driver multiple times and ddu for clean install to avoid flukes"
Game: Hunt: Showdown 1896 (Steam)
Graphics Settings: 1440p, Fullscreen, Low Preset
During my research I have noticed multiple people suffering from the same problems some of those users include. "HuntShowdownIsBroken, 986, Madsbieger and OofBooper" This seems to be a problem on the B580 series as well and has been ongoing since last year.
Issue(s):
Shadows: or maybe global illumination seem to be broken as objects, building, trees, ect... are completely dark and worse in some areas then others. pictures posted.
Fog: This fog problem is mainly inside buildings which removes the ability to see anyone within a couple of feet from you. If your within a couple of feet from a exit/door the fog completely disappears as if a invisible wall of fog exists inside only. Interestingly enough when viewing into a building from the outside the fog cannot be seen while looking into the building. "photos attached". Also fog is worse depending on the position inside the buildings.
FPS: Having other older cards in the past that get about the same if not more fps then this card. Not sure if its possible to improve this but I think its worth a mentioning as others have stated this as well. Lowering in game settings makes a small improvement but I'm sure there is room for improvement in this area in terms of optimization as Crytek engine is used in quite a few games as well as dx11.

Dear SavageDestroyer,
Since you have installed the latest graphics driver, please disable the iGPU from the processor and restart your computer.
If the issue persists after disabling it, please let me know.

Thank you for getting back to me. The 5800x3d does not have a igpu "onboard graphics". The motherboard is using the pcie slot one which is the a770.

Performance is as expected for a770 according to 3d mark. My comment on performance was in passing as other cards around the same price still get higher fps especially on the games that run the CryEngine and dx11.

Dear SavageDestroyer,
Thank you for the update.
To further investigate the issue, could you please provide a screenshot of the settings? Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could share the CapFrameX results so we can analyze the FPS issue.
Looking forward to your response.

Thanks for getting back to me Juan Sergio, lets start with the most pressing problem indicated in the title and in chronological order starting with the first shadows and fog. As others gamers/users have been suffering from as these specific problems for a while now. Also some reddit users have also commented about the shadow, fog and global illumination issues. I have linked this post that way they the hunt community can hopefully get a ETA on a fix. I have posted my multiple pictures of the issues in the original forum post. I have added pictures of my ingame settings below.
Thanks, SD

I'm trying to replicate the 2 issues (shadows and also the fog) and after multiple playthroughs with A770 and B580 GPUs I have not seen them. The one issue I saw on A770 was flickering shadows and I'll be taking it to our driver dev team (refer to this video: https://youtu.be/IeUPOp2K4Xg ).
Is there any specific set of steps I need to follow to see each issue? or is it appearing randomly after 'x' amount of time playing?
Can you record a video showing me how to reproduce each issue? (you can use Win+G keys to record with Window's Game Bar).
Thanks for any extra help you can provide me.
Best Regards.

@SavageDestroyer I would like to follow up with you and ask if you got a change to look at my previous post.
I could use some help reproducing this issue.
Thanks in advance for all your inputs on this one.

How odd. However upon some further digging I noticed a commonality in almost all the posts about this problem. Could this be related to this cpu? Specifically am4 5000's series of cpus? I know the a770 has had some problems with this series of cpu's specifically related to performance per Hardware unboxed channel and in contact with the intel team. Could this problem manifest this way per the cpu? or could to be the engine related in-conjunction with these similar setups?
Thanks, SM

I don't have a 5000 series CPU handy but I just finished testing with an AMD 7700X + Intel Arc A770 and still can't see the fog or shadows issue. I tested in both the shooting range and in Bounty mode.
Is this something you can reproduce in the shooting range? If yes, can you record a video and share it with me?
Best Regards,

Hello, SavageDestroyer.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and for providing detailed information regarding the issue you're experiencing. Following extensive testing on both AMD and Intel platforms, we have been unable to replicate the behavior you described. To assist us further in diagnosing the root cause, we kindly ask if you could provide a video recording that clearly demonstrates how the issue occurs, including the specific steps that lead to the problem. This would greatly aid our efforts in replicating and analyzing the scenario more accurately.
If you're able to share this recording, we will proceed with further simulation and investigation accordingly.
Best regards,
