To be clear I mean something, if not like dldsr, then like dsr or vsr? No... some post process filter or msaa is not what I'm asking for.
And unfortunately it seems like the monitor is incapable of doing the the downsampling as well, as I've tried using cru ( which is weird because it used to work, not sure why thats changed, possibly the age of the monitor... which is 10+ years now). So even that is off the table. But its better to have the gpu do the work anyway.
I put myself in a queue for a b580. I knew there was no dldsr alternative, but I thought there'd be something. Sounds like there isn't and it would have be a per application type solution which sounds like a nightmare. Having a feature like this is really essential to me. If I don't find a solution, I don't think I'll end up buying the gpu, unfortunately, as much as I wanted to support intel's gpu adventures.
I asked on the intel arc reddit for solutions and was met with silence so I'm guessing there are no current solutions, is there at least something in the works? Does anybody know?

Hi iameatingjam,
Thank you for posting in the Community.
To better understand your situation, could you please provide the following information?
- What is your current monitor model and resolution? Knowing this can help us understand the limitations you're facing.
- Have you successfully used downsampling techniques with other GPUs or setups in the past? If so, what methods worked for you?
- Are there particular applications or games where downsampling is most critical for you? This can help us identify targeted solutions.
- Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility from here. Generate a report and attach it to your response. This will give us detailed information about your system configuration. If you prefer not to provide the SSU report, could you share the specifications of your system, including the CPU, GPU, RAM, and motherboard?
Best regards,

1.Dell P2416Db 1440p
2.Yes, like I said I use dldsr, and at 4k. I do that currently with my 4090. I was looking at the b580 as a backup gpu (since instances of GPU droughts have seem to become rather common in the last 10ish years and I don't want to get stuck with nothing in case of a failure during a time when the shelves are empty)
3.Its always on. At first I used it only in games with no/poor AA options (usually older or lesser known/indie games) but the image quality improvement was so good, and I have the horsepower for it, that I started using it all the time at 4k in all games and out of them. If I were to complete the purchase of the b580 and find myself in a situation where I needed to use the card, and this technology also existed on it, I imagine I would go back to using it only in older/less demanding games without temporal solutions as rendering newer more demanding games at 4k may be a problem.
But yeah basically its the ultimate fallback for insufficient AA. And no post proccess is not good enough on its own. It can help in combination with downsampling, but on its own, its still doesn't look good enough to my eyes ( and yes that includes CMAA)
4. You should have that report on file several time over already, when I ran it for my cpu rmas, but here's my specs:
14700KF
Gigabyte B760 Aorus Elite Ax DDR5
ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240
32GB Kingston Fury Beast (KF556C36BBEAK2-32)
Asus Tuf 4090 24GB non-oc (launch model)
4TB sn850x, 2TB sn850x, 2TB Netac Nv7000 + 2TB p5 plus, 4TB MX500 * 2. And a dvd burner.
Dell 1440P 23.5" IPS ( small size is for higher pixel density, another measure against aliasing, as you can tell, I find it quite bothersome)

Hi iameatingjam,
I recognize how important it is for you to have a reliable fallback solution, especially given the unpredictability of GPU availability. I will be checking internally to explore any current or upcoming solutions that might meet your needs with the Intel Arc B580 GPU. While I cannot promise an immediate solution, please know that I am committed to keeping you informed and will get back to you as soon as I have more information.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
