No VRR/Adaptive Sync Option

I am using an Arc A750 and the latest beta drivers 31.0.101.4382.

There is no option to turn on variable refresh rate in Arc Control, Intel Graphics Command Center (both versions), nor the Windows settings. Arc Control even shows my display as incompatible with VRR (screenshot attached). The only options in Arc Control are Smooth Sync, Vsync On, and Smart Sync. 

 

My monitor is the AOC 27G2 conncted through DP and with the G-Sync setting on the monitor turned on. I have tried turning the G-sync setting off and editing the registry to turn on adaptive sync.  

 

I had previously used an Nvidia card and G-sync worked fine. New drivers were installed with DDU. I have no idea why this isn't working and it's been bothering me for a while.

Thank you for posting on the Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communites. I am sorry you are experiencing issues using the Adaptive Sync feature on your system.


Based on the log file that you have provided and to ensure full compatibility, I would advise updating the following:


  • Update the Operating System to the latest build 19045 which corresponds to the 22H2 update for Windows 10.
  • Update your BIOS to the latest version. got to your manufacturer's website to download it.


Also, I would recommend the following after performing the above updates:


  • Check How to Enable Variable Refresh Rate and verify if the settings are missing from Windows settings.
  • Try using different DP cables.
  • Try installing an older driver version like 31.0.0.101.4314 and check if the issue persists.

I have updated both Windows and my BIOS and the options are still missing. I do not have a second DP cable to test with, however the one I am using is a new cable from Amazon. 

 

Screenshot attached of the Graphics settings in Windows settings. 

I have been using this graphics card for about 6 months now, this issue had existed on older driver versions as well.

Thank you for the information. I see different versions of the AOC 27G2 monitor. Could you please verify and let us know the exact version that you have? Also, in order to be able to activate Adaptive Sync the monitor as to be Vesa Adaptive Sync compatible, please check with your manufacturer if the monitor is compliant with the certification.


In order to get more system information, create a System report following these instructions. Only use the instructions under Intel Graphics Command Center (Intel GCC).

Again, my monitor is the 27G2 (with nothing at the end) 144hz G-sync compatible display. 

Again, I said it was G-sync compatible as I literally have a G-sync toggle on the monitor OSD. 

 

I've seen the other Intel support threads and I've lost hope.

Upon checking this issue with our team, we confirmed this is a known issue between the Intel® Arc™ driver and the AOC 27G2 monitor, we are working with AOC in order to address this issue, however, at the moment we cannot commit to a specific outcome or an estimated time for a fix to be released.

We recommend that you also report this issue to AOC to help us push this issue on all fronts.

We have been working on this issue for a while since we know it is important to be able to use the VRR capabilities of your monitor and we want to let you know that this issue should have been resolved in our latest driver version 31.0.101.4972. Please update to the latest version and check if you can now use Variable Refresh Rate.
