Ok, situation is that my 1060 6GB ran smooth and responsive in this scenario. i7 14700k, msi z690 mortar, ddr4 3600 32GB ram, soundblaster Z pcie, Gen4 WD black ssd's, running the game at 1440p.
I drop in the B590 steel legend about 3 days ago, get the driver as per then. Load up the game and the intro menus are very slow to respond, there's a massive lag like there is a scheduling issue. Yes I tried with the park E cores mainboard option, no difference. It seems to "catch up" in a minute or two and be responsive again. Then when loading the game the new zombie walker animation is very jerky, very slow with periods of quick/slow. The actual game play, smooth as butter. The only issue while gaming is that some of the fences flash while they still should be solid and not cutting away for view and the wire fences shimmer with the mesh textures.

Hello MVb590,
Thank you for posting in the community! To further investigate this situation, I have a few questions I'd like to ask. Please answer the following questions:
- Can you confirm if your GPU is a B580?
- When you installed your new Arc GPU, did you perform a clean installation of the graphics driver using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in safe mode? This will completely remove the graphics driver from your previous GTX 1060.
- Could you share an image of the game, highlighting the flashing fences?
- Besides this game, are there any other games that have the same issue?
- Are you also experiencing performance issues with the game?
This will greatly help me assess your situation more smoothly.
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

1. Whoops on the naming, yea, it's the asrock b580 steel legend.
2. I did a standard install of the driver and later uninstalled the nvidia driver through the windows app listing. Oh, windows 10 as well.
3. Ok, the attachment is of that fence in particular and is one I pass often. It is at the southern part of the gated community east side in muldraugh. The game has intentional clipping to keep certain playfields within player view, there is usually just one main fence line that is doing this, it is one that goes horizontally across the screen and is the large solid wooden fence. It seems to be clipping when it shouldn't and quite a lot.
4. Haven't played any other games yet.
5. Yes however it may be the build of the game itself, there are times it pauses, not slows, actual pauses as it loads assets while driving vehicles. Playing the game it is very smooth and works fine.

Hi MVb590,
Thank you for answering my question. To further troubleshoot this issue, could you try using the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) twice in Windows Safe Mode? This will remove all the graphics driver files from Nvidia and Intel on your system. Then, we can re-install the graphics driver from Intel. Follow these steps below:
- Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)< software and extract the file.
- Open DDU ****.exe and run extract program.
- Reboot into Windows* safe mode. (Refer to Start your PC in safe mode in Windows.)
- Go to the DDU extract path and double-click the Display Driver Uninstaller.exe to open DDU.
- Click Close in the Options window.
- Select device type to GPU and select device to NVIDIA.
- Click Clean and restart.
- Wait the software to finish the process and auto reboot Windows to the normal mode.
- Repeat steps 3-8, but this time, in step 6, instead of selecting NVIDIA, please select INTEL.
After you uninstall all graphics drivers using DDU, please try to install the latest driver for your Battlemage from this link. Choose the custom installation option and check the clean installation box. After performing this please let me know the outcome.
Best regards,

I have an update to this issue of the laggy menu. BTW, I have updated to the most recent driver that released recently as well.
I've been trying to troubleshoot another non graphics issue in the game and I tried to disable the option in the graphics settings of "enable texture compression". I disabled that and restarted the game as itself instructed me to do, the menu is now silky smooth upon game load, not laggy animations nor delayed inputs. The game itself is also still very smooth as before. I hope that helps you track down maybe some other issues too. This card doesn't seem to like the texture compression option enabled. And quite frankly, with 12GB of memory does it actually need it?

Hi MVb590,
I see, thanks for that insight. I will keep it in mind and include it in further investigations. But just for the record, can you confirm if you followed my recommendation for a clean installation? Also, did you uninstall the previous Nvidia driver and Intel driver using DDU in safe mode?
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

No I didn't need to do that as I uninstalled the nvidia driver with no issues and when it came to install the latest intel driver that was recently released I chose a clean install.

Hi MVb590,
I see. I am quite curious about the texture compression setting of the game. Could you do a video recording with the texture compression enabled, and then another with it disabled, so I can compare and try this on my end as well?
Also, to better understand your entire system information, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This will generate a text file that compiles all your system information. You can follow this link for instructions and send the text file here: Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility

Hi MVb590,
I have checked the two videos that you provided, but it seems that the two videos are quite similar, and I do not see any performance issues or massive lag in the game. I think the videos are quite short; could you send two more videos, but this time make them a bit longer? Additionally, I see that you are looking for additional mod files. Could you tell me if you are using mods in the game?
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

I thought it was quite clear. I go into the load/mod menu to show how the performance is impacted on the menu system. The first video is very fast and smooth, everything loaded quickly, the 2nd with texture compression on you can see how much slower everything is to react and load as well as the main pre-game load zombie animation was very jerky.

Hi MVb590,
I see. I watched the video again and was able to see your point about the laggy animation and loading time. I just have a clarification: when you enable texture compression and exit to the menu, then re-join the game, does the loading time become shorter and the loading animation smoother?
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

Ok, just quitting to the main menu and reloading back into the game, yes the animation is smoother, not fully smooth but smoother and yes, loading time back in is significantly faster, like about 3 seconds. This being a cpu heavy game I think texture compression and the game itself are just competing with each other for cpu work.

Hi MVb590,
That's great to hear that it became smooth after rejoining the game! However, let's further investigate this on my end to ensure everything is working properly.

Hello MVb590,
Thank you for patiently waiting while I investigated this issue internally. I was unable to replicate the performance loss you encountered in the game. I played Project Zomboid without any mod packs and tested it with texture compression both enabled and disabled. In both cases, the loading screens were not laggy and loaded normally. I have tested this with Intel Arc Graphics and Nvidia Graphics
Could you please confirm if you have tested the game without any mod packs while toggling the texture compression on and off? If not, please try doing so and let me know the outcome.
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

Hello MVb590,
I wanted to check if you've had a chance to play Project Zomboid without the mod packs. Please let me know if the issue persists after trying this.
