It might not be related to the gpu itself but rather to windows but I noticed some weird things with colors. First of all, even though I have set 32bit bit depth, windows settings still shows only 8 (on all 3 displays). I'm also pretty sure that on my TV that I'm using as a monitor the colors are better when I use it without the PC. The most interesting thing is that when going into windows safe mode, the colors are way more vivid and after using DDU, for some time before windows installs it's own drivers, the colors on my TFT display are actually better than on IPS, but as soon as I install intel drivers and reboot, they get washed out (and windows aero stops working).
Am I doing something wrong? Because even on GTX card my screens were never as beautiful as on ARC without drivers.

Hello Remlin379,
Thank you for posting on the Intel
To have a better understanding of the situation, please answer the following questions:
- Is the graphics card an Intel Branded Card or from another brand?
- What is the monitors make and model?
- What ports are you using to connect the displays?
- To know your system hardware and software information, run and attach the report of the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows (SSU), you can find the steps on the link How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows.

Sorry, I was pretty busy this week so I was unable to login here
Here's the SSU report
My monitors are:
DP - acer kg251qdbmiipx (main)
DP - Asus BE24A (I think it's colors are the best)
HDMI - TCL TCL 43C649 43" TV
The GPU is ASRock Arc A770 Phantom Gaming 8GB
Additionaly, it's likely not the arc's fault, that the colors are washed out, because I noticed similar thing with gtx, but I don't remember ever uninstalling nvidia's drivers so I don't know if colors were better without them like now without intel's. The problem might also be caused by a quirky main monitor, and the TV being incompatible with arc, since the second of my monitors looks quite okay.

Hello Remlin379,
Thank you for your response and for sharing all the requested information.
We always recommend having the system up to date for a better performance on the graphics card please follow the steps below and let me know the results:
- I noticed you have already installed the latest graphics driver version 31.0.101.4952, did you use DDU before installing it? For guidance, How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.
- Update the BIOS to version F17c to check if the behavior changes, For installation steps, contact Gigabyte.

I use DDU every update, i hate the fact that i have to do this for better experience but I do
As for the bios update, I'm not sure how could it impact gpu when all the changes are cpu related, but I'll do this when I'll have time

Hello Remlin379,
Thank you for your answer.
I will wait for you to complete the BIOS update, the reason why it is important to do it is because it may improve the performance, stability, and compatibility of the graphics card.
Please as soon as you have the results let me know.

Hello Remlin379,
Thank you for your reply, that helps a lot.
This week we released a new graphics driver, before we proceed with the next steps, please follow the steps below:
- As you did previously, clean install the graphics driver with DDU For guidance, if you still need guidance, on How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.
- Then, install the graphics driver version 31.0.101.4953.
Keep me informed of the results.

We both know that won't help. This thread was more of a question if you knew why colors are better without drivers than looking for a fix anyway. Thanks for the help, you can close this thread and go finally fix Arc control for example.

Hello Remlin379,
Before closing this thread, I want to let you know that I have been working on the investigation of your question. In this case, Windows does not report the 8-bits used for the Alpha channel (transparency) that is part of True Color 32-bit, therefore in RGB mode, we have 8-bit for each Red + Green + Blue (24-bit + 8-bit Alpha channel).
When in Windows we see 'True Color - 32-bit' this is the equivalent to seeing in Graphics Settings = RGB mode 8-bit (in other words: it is expected to see Windows reporting 8-bit mode when using 32-bit, is the same).
As for the color differences you see, you should be working on each monitor setting and calibration in conjunction with Arc Control color settings (for example trying different Hue and Saturation values) and for the TV check if there is any option in the TV to change colors to full range.
Let me know if you have further questions.

Andres P.
