Returnal crash with RayTracing and Ambient Occlusion

Hi, i have random crashes on desktop with Returnal (Steam version with latest update) with RT and AO "On" after 5-20 minutes. Without these effects (RT and AO "Off") everything works fine and no crash. And second problem, Xess on Ultra Quality have graphics glitches. Any chance to fix? Thx.

 

 

Specs:

i7 11700 f

16 GB RAM DDR 4 3600 Kingston Predator

A770 LE 16 GB (4885 via DDU, ReBar enabled in BIOS Z590 Gigabyte Gaming X)

1 TB Samsung M2 gen. 3

Thank you for posting on the Intel communities. I see that you are having crashing issues while playing Returnal with your Intel® Arc™ A770 Graphics (16GB), I will be more than happy to help you.  

 

To understand this issue in a better way, please answer the following questions: 


  • Is the graphics card an Intel Branded Card or is it from another brand?
  • Are the graphics glitches the same issue as the crash issue that you have or are they completely different issues?
  • When the game crashes do you receive any error message? If so, take a screenshot about, to have a better understanding.
  • Take screenshots of the game settings in case we need them to replicate the issue.
  • To know you system configuration, download and attach the report for the following tool Intel® System Support Utility for Windows (SSU), you can find the steps on the link How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows.

1. Limited Edition from Intel (A770 16 GB LE)

2, Different issues in this game. One is crashing with RT and AO "On", second  Xess on Ultra Quality causes graphic glitches or "flickering" in static view

3, No, without any error messages

4, All is up to date (OS, BIOS)

To keep this thread organized and help you is the best way, since you are reporting two different issues, I recommend you to open another thread for the flickering issue, and we will be more than half to help you.


For the crashing issue please answer the questions below, before starting with the troubleshooting steps:


  • Take screenshots showing the game display settings, this will help us a lot to replicate the issue accurately.
  • Remember to attach the report of the Intel® SSU, this will be really useful to provide you with the next steps.
