Have to give credit where it is due.
Intel ARC series got off to a rocky start due largely to driver issues.
As the first discrete consumer GPU for some time, some of those niggles were to be expected.
People sometimes get a little impatient.
We all have to remember they're playing a 'catch-up' game to discrete GPU producers who have been at it for a very long time.
I remember when Nvidia was started in 1993. They also had their share of driver issues.
AMD absorbed ATI, which was even older...started in 1985.
I once got a Sapphire card with no drivers at all.
Intel's numerous driver updates have brought these cards along fairly well for the timeframe.
The fact I can run sims in VR with decent fps is quite remarkable.
It has come a long way from my original I740 3D Starfighter.
I still have that card from 1998 knocking around somewhere.
Larrabee never made it into the wild so that really doesn't count.

Absolutely. Intel’s ARC series did face a tough start, but it’s clear they’re making significant strides with each driver update. As you mentioned, even Nvidia and AMD weren’t always smooth sailing early on, and it’s easy to forget how much these companies have evolved since their beginnings. The fact that Intel is now getting decent VR performance and solid FPS in sims is impressive, especially considering they’re essentially playing catch-up in a market dominated by Nvidia and AMD for decades. The I740 was a game-changer in its time, and seeing Intel push forward with ARC, despite the growing pains, shows how far the company has come. I think it's exciting to see where they go next, especially if they continue to refine their drivers and push the limits of what their hardware can do.
