The new 6559 driver slows down the A770 system.

The new 6559 driver slows down the A770 system.

Hi, I am using a Sparkle ARC A770 Titan. A few days ago, the 6559 driver was released, which integrated ARC A and B. Since the driver was integrated, I expected that the A770 would also support HAGS, which is supported by the B580, but it did not.

Separately, the new 6559 driver slowed down my Windows 11. I am not talking about 3D or gaming performance. It just slows down the overall system performance.

The boot speed is slow. The "Welcome" message that you see before Windows starts lasts a long time.

The application launch speed is "significantly" slow. I tried launching various applications. The apps that I can feel the most are Paint and Snipping Tool. I am not sure if the translation is correct. I mean Microsoft's Snipping and Sketch or Snipping Tool.

It took almost 5 seconds to launch the app. Previously, most apps took about 0.1 seconds to launch. It's like the speed difference between HDD and SSD.

I tested the previously released drivers. 6557 also has the same problem. 6460 driver is fine.

Probably 6458 and below will have no problem. All the problems I mentioned are fully reproducible and I will provide more information if you request.

I am attaching the new SSU.

Same issue - Windows 11 with a A770.

Intel i5 12400f

32GB Ram,

Like even Microsoft Calculator is taking 3 to 4 seconds to load, Chrome presents a white screen for about the same time on loading. then is fine.

Very weird problem.

The last couple of driver releases have been REALLY ropey for Arc A series recently.

Hello, thank you for your reply. Are 6460 and 6458(WHQL) ok?

This fixed Chrome for me: In the Performance/System settings, uncheck "use graphic acceleration when available". Still have other Windows 11 issues: Photos app opens slow. Folder drag between folders is slow.

Hi GTX,

Thank you for posting in the Community!

To further diagnose the issue, I like to clarify the following:

Did you perform a clean installation of the 32.0.101.6559 (WHQL Certified) driver? If not, follow the instructions here: Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers in Windows* . Download the driver here: Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows*

Have you checked the Windows Event Viewer for any error or warning messages that coincide with the performance issues?

Have you checked the Task Manager to see if any specific process is consuming high resources?

What power plan is your system currently set to? Have you tried setting it to "High Performance" or "Ultimate Performance"?

Hi Herumacil,

This is noted however, I suggest creating a new thread for this inquiry to avoid further confusions.

Hi Dean R. Thanks for the reply.

I have been unplugging my A770 since Jan 29th to test a new Deep Learning Super Sampling from a competitor and that has prevented me from using the 6557 driver.

I was very excited to get the 6559 driver released which is a merger of the 6557 from ARC-A and the 6262 from ARC-B so I re-plugged my graphics card. However, the latest driver has a lot of issues.

After writing the thread I noticed that there are at least 5 other threads with the same issue as me. I would like to clarify this.

First off I will put this thread on hold for a while until the new driver is released.

Same issue -- A750 Limited Edition + 12700K / Windows 11

1. I'd removed driver by DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and install again (clean installation).

The issue can be duplicate again.

Besides, I found that Firefox is very slow (white screen for 3 second when you launch Firefox everytime).

Media player classic is slow response when you open a video file.

2. I removed 6559 again by DDU. Install 101.6458_101.625(WHQL) driver.

After that, every program works very well. (No slow response issue)

Hi GTX,

I appreciate you for getting back to me, I want to elaborate the issues you have mentioned with the latest driver 32.0.101.6559. I also want to know if you checked the Windows Event Viewer for any error or warning messages that coincide with the performance issues.

When opening Chrome with the 6559 driver on the A series as well as the B580, a white screen appears for a few seconds and becomes slow.
