Hi, recently I've gotten back into counter-strike 2, which I like to play in black bars mode (Preserve Aspect Ratio).
I've run into an issue with either the gpu (b580) or Intel Graphics software not forcing counter strike to preserve the aspect ratio and always forcing stretched mode. I've gotten it to work before with the same setup, but it was luck and unrepeatable (I just alt tabbed out of the gaming during starting it up, only worked once). I've also tried multiple monitors, and the issue stays the same.
Is intel aware of any glitches regarding the gpu/software not forcing application to use the selected scaling method? Or has anyone come across a fix/ workaround?
Thanks,
zNshade.

Hey Earl,
Thanks for the reply!
I believe the driver is 32.0.101.6793
The troubleshooting steps when I got it to work, basically amounted to setting it to Preserve Aspect Ratio and alt-tabbing in and out, sometimes during start up (Don't think it worked | Crashed/bugged the game) and when it had completely loaded. I'm pretty sure I kept switching it between stretch and preserve aspect ratio to 'trick'/force the Intel Graphics Software to force the game to use preserve aspect ratio. I haven't been able to get it to work since. It only worked like once or twice and would revert to stretched if I alt tabbed too many times.
Yes, I've used DDU and reinstalled (also tried reinstalling without DDU).
Steam, Counter-Strike 2.
Samsung Odyssey G3 24" 180hz FHD 1ms Gaming Monitor G30D - using HDMI
CS Settings - Display Mode - Fullscreen.
Aspect Ratio - Normal 4:3.
Resolution - 1152 x 864 - I also use 1024x768 and 1280x960.
Refresh rate - 179hz - no setting for 180.
Vsync - Off.
All of other settings on lowest except for anti-aliasing on 2x MSAA and Fidelity-FX disabled.
Cheers,
zNShade.

Hello zNShade,
Thank you for sharing this valuable information with us.
Got it, I'll take note of this and conduct further investigation on our end.
To help us replicate the issue in our lab, could you please share a screenshot of the game settings for CS2? This will allow us to analyze the configurations and identify any potential factors contributing to the issue.
Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility from the following link: Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*
Once installed, follow these steps:
- Open the tool.
- Click Scan (leave the default items checked).
- Click Next and then Save the system information to a .txt file.
- Share the .txt file with us so we can review the peripherals and driver versions on your system.
Best regards,
Earl E.

Hi Earl,
Apologies for the late reply.
Here is the info you requested;
Also, I recently decided to try DisplayPort again and it seems to be doing the same thing as before, where it sometimes goes into black bars mode when I alt tab back into it, or when I first tab into it and then if I alt tab again it switches back to wide screen and won't change back.
Regards,
zNShade

Hi zNShade,
Thank you for your patience. I wanted to confirm that you have completed the following steps:
- Right-click on the game's shortcut or .exe file and select "Properties."
- Click on the "Compatibility" tab.
- Check the box next to "Disable full screen optimizations."
- Click "Apply" and then launch the game.
Additionally, I have a few follow-up questions to help us better understand the issue:
- Does the issue also occur when using DisplayPort (DP)?
- Is the problem present with the latest Graphics Driver version 32.0.101.6795?
- Could you share a video recording of the issue?
Best regards,
