games crash with new arc A770

Hi There,

 

I hope someone will be able to help me.

 

I bought an Arc A770 GC but it crah when trying to start a game (fortnite, diablo 4, etc.). Computer just restart. 

All was fine with my previous GC...I tried already to delete all previous drivers and install the new one but still not working.

 

Have run the  system support utility, the log is attached.

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I am sorry to know that you are having issues with your Intel® Arc™ A770 Graphics.


Based on the Intel® Arc™ A-Series Graphics article, you may need the Resizable BAR or Smart Access Memory must be enabled for the card to work properly on your 3rd generation CPU (discountinued).

This feature is available for the 10 generation or higher CPU. I recommend you to check with MSI to confirm if their motherboard supports Resizable BAR or Smart Access Memory or if it is compatible with the motherboard.


If MSI confirms that the board is compatible with these features, please let me know so can check this issue further.

Dear Deivida,
MSI confirmed the mothercard do not support this feature of resizable bar. Does it mean the graphic card is totally not compatible with it?

1. Are you getting any error codes or bug IDs from the games when they crash?

2. Can you provide a list of the games affected?

Hi Deivid A.,

 

1. I am not getting any error codes or ID because it is not only the game who crashed but the computer just turn off/on.

2. Basically it seems affecting all games who need some graphics : Diablo4, Fortnite, Wartales, Total war Warhammer3...not affecting fallout shelter for examle.

2. If possible, get in contact with MSI to get the steps to update your BIOS (V1.7):

Thanks for your help.

I have updated my bios and the drivers but it still does not work...I have also tried the beta driver for the graphic card but always same issue...

Hi Saverock 

 

I had a similar issue to yourself in the past when I upgraded my graphics card (at the time I upgraded to an RTX 2080 super).
If I launched a graphically intensive game, my PC would just shut down soon after launching the game.
I found that my PSU wasn’t high enough wattage.

I upgraded to 850w PSU from 600w PSU and the issue stopped happening. 

is your PSU up to the task of running your new Intel arc a770?

2. Provide any steps needed to replicate this issue.

3. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.

Before we close this thread we want to let you know that we confirm our suspicion that the lack of Resizable BAR support on the motherboard side may be triggering the issues, best course of action would be to test the card on a different system that supports this requirement.
