is there any chance of a timeline for vr support with meta quest 2 or better can you release the working beta you gave to linus tech tips. with the proviso that it is an unsupported beta with no guarantees it will work with the particular games.

hi there danny

Meta has officially discontinued support for the original Meta Quest VR headset, and this also applies to the Meta Quest 2. While they will continue to provide software updates and security fixes until 2024, there’s no official timeline for VR support beyond that. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to any specific beta versions, including the one Linus Tech Tips received. If you’re interested in VR experiences, the Meta Quest 2 remains an affordable entry point into the world of virtual reality.

According to this link: Meta Quest compatibility - Intel Community , the Intel technician indicated that there is currently no information they can disclose. However, they noted that Intel® Arc™ Graphics support for VR headsets is continually evolving as they develop their products and update their software stack.

hope it helps...

Hello there @ShunMnzed...

Meta has not discontinued support for the Meta Quest 2, as it continues to receive updates and support. However, it is true that Meta provides software updates and security fixes for their devices, and there's no official timeline for VR support beyond 2024 for the original Meta Quest.

Regarding Intel's Arc™ Graphics support for VR headsets, the Intel technician did indicate that there is no specific information they can disclose at the moment. However, they mentioned that support for VR headsets is continually evolving as Intel develops its products and updates its software stack.
