no sound on my laptop after update gfx_win_101.4146.exe

Hello and good morning to everyone,

after the latest update gfx_win_101.4146.exe, Intel® Arc™, gráficos de processadores Intel® Core™ da 11ª e 13ª Geração, my laptop stays without any sound after reboot. I've to reconfigure the driver manually to another version before. The driver in question is "BUS da Tecnologia Intel Smart Sound"... always stays with an error and no sound is produced.

In order to better assist you, please provide the following:  


1. What is the exact model of the processor installed?

2. Is the issue present also with the drivers from the laptop manufacturer?

3. What is the driver version that is working for you?

4. Have you checked this issue with the laptop manufacturer?


Bear in mind that the Intel® Smart Sound Technology (Intel® SST) is a technology that Intel provides to the laptop manufacturer so they can perform the customization needed by their system. They have to provide you with the proper Intel® Smart Sound Technology (Intel® SST) driver version.

Good morning DeividA and thank you for the reply.

Thank you for the concerning, it's not a big problem but I just want to alert for the problem. Of course I can manage the reinstall of the default driver but it's good to give a feedback to the communities.

About the issues you've asked me, I'll give them with pleasure. So, here are the details of the laptop:

1 - 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.42 GHz

2 - yes, they're present with the manufacturer. But the manufacturer doesn't have any updates. The updates are directly from Intel with an assistant. I always have an alert for updates and I always update directly from the Intel. The drivers for the sound are all from the Intel sound, even if it's digital microphone, usb or bluetooth. The loudspeakears are Realtek.

3 - At the moment, the drivers are Intel Smart Sound for bluetooth audio, usb audio, digital microphone and Bus of Intel Smart Sound Technology: version 10.29.0.7919, date 27-07-2022. The latest update gives me conflict, that's why I had to change for another before.

4 - No, I haven't. I've worked directly with your assistant, with the alerts of new updates.

If I have to contact them, that won't be a problem. I just wanted to alert you for the problem. And I have to thank you for the attention and the reply.

Thanks for the information provided. If the issue is related to the Intel® Smart Sound Technology (Intel® SST), I recommend you to check with the manufacturer of your laptop since they are the ones who provide this driver for their system. However, before that you may need to test the following:


1. Make sure (with the manufacturer) that your BIOS version is up to date.

2. Confirm that all Windows updates were performed (including optional).

3. As a test, try a clean installation of the graphics driver (to confirm that the driver is being installed properly):



If the issue persists, you will have to check with the laptop manufacturer so they can run the tests needed on their machine.

Good morning once again,

it worked. I've made a bios update, installed the intel update, with the assistant because the software is the same version, made a clean install and it's functional. I'm glad it solved the problem and I want to thank you for all the help and attention. Probably it wasn't a big deal but caused some discomfort to both.

Now, with the problem solved, do I have to do something in this forum?

Good morning DeividA,

please don´t close it yet because the problem persists...

 

Today I was warned that there was another update of the sound driver... strangely, I've been notified several times for an update and I realised that was always the same. Finally, today I've made the update once again and I've stayed with no sound device in the same place... control panel, system devices, when it appears all the devices, once again on system devices, "BUS of Intel® Smart Sound Technology" isn't present. Once again I had to change the driver version to another one before (10.29.0.7919, 27/07/2022) because the newest one doesn´t work. But after the update, it keeps asking me to update the driver and it's always the same one.

It works well with the old one, for me is enough.

I'm sorry for the bad news, and I'm going to ask to the manufacturer if there's a solution for it.
