BlueTooth is not working Yocto Intel AeroBoard

Dear all,

I would like to use Bluetooth to communicate with external devices, BLE should be available trough Intel Wireless 8260 chip. But it is not working in Yocto?

root@intel-aero:/lib/firmware# dmesg | egrep -i 'blue|firm'

[ 0.378627] acpi PNP0A08:00: [Firmware Info]: MMCONFIG for domain 0000 [bus 00-3f] only partially covers this bridge

[ 3.832849] iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: loaded firmware version 16.242414.0 op_mode iwlmvm

I described the situation also at:

https://github.com/intel-aero/meta-intel-aero/issues/361 Accessing BlueTooth on Intel AeroBoard · Issue # 361 · intel-aero/meta-intel-aero · GitHub

Where we can get the missing files? Or how to solve the situation. Thank you.

Hello trgiman,

Thank you for your interest in the Intel Aero Compute Board.

Can you please try the below commands?
  1. sudo systemctl enable bluetooth followed by reboot
After the board starts again, use:
  1. bluetoothctl
  2. agent KeyboardOnly
  3. default-agent
  4. power on
  5. scan on
Please provide me the outcome in case you receive any errors.

Regards,

Eliza

Hi Eliza,

Output of bluetoothctl is always only:

Waiting to connect to bluetoothd...

Ok. Than I started bluetoothd directly from /usr/libexec/bluetooth

Now bluetoothctl returns [bluetooth] command line

But after trying your recommended commands or command list returns empty list and on your recommended commands it returns:

agent KeyBoardOnly

--> Agent registered

default-agent

--> Default agent request successful

power on

--> No default controller available

scan on

--> No default controller available

dmesg output changed a bit, but still driver errors?:

root@intel-aero:~# dmesg | egrep -i 'blue|firm'

Hello trgiman,

Thank you for your patience!

While the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 has the capability, Bluetooth is not enabled for the Intel Aero platform. If Bluetooth is required for your project there are alternative interfaces for an add-on Bluetooth adapter.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else!
