We are able to install the Intel Aero Board iso (Yocto) into the 32GB eMMC.
However, after installing the iso (Yocto) into the SSD, the PCIe device cannot be found
under Boot Manager -> EFI Boot Device after rebooting the board.
Is the PCIe SSD supported for booting the board? Or only eMMC can be used.
Please advise. Thanks.
Kelvin

Hi Kelvin,
Thank you for contacting us.
We've done some research in regards to your question. Looking at the documentation available, we see that for now, the only method available to boot the board is from the USB installer, as explained here https://github.com/intel-aero/meta-intel-aero/wiki/Quickstart-Guide https://github.com/intel-aero/meta-intel-aero/wiki/Quickstart-Guide .
We've also looked at similar community threads, where users asked if the Aero can boot from other devices besides the USB installer and the suggestion was that for now, please follow the method of the Wiki guide posted above.

Hi Sergio,
Thanks for the reply.
We understand that Intel Aero Board can boot from removable USB disk. We have used it to install the latest Intel Aero ISO onto our board.
To rephrase my question, can the Intel Aero board run from Yocto installed in SSD instead of eMMC?

As of yet, this configuration is not supported. The methods tested are the ones that can be found in the Wiki posted above, where the Linux Yocto can boot from either the eMMC or the USB installer.
Let us know if this answers your questions.

Hi Sergio,
Thanks for your reply.
This concludes that the PCIe SSD can only be used for data storage.
