I'm autonomous drone solutions architect for Intel Aero.
We just published the doc on how to install Ubuntu 16.04.
Ubuntu is not replacing Yocto. Yocto is still shipped with Intel Aero, and is already configured for Intel Aero. Ubuntu installation has more steps (compilation, manual setup) and is only interesting if you plan to develop software.
Enjoy, and please share your feedback.
Thank you very much for your tutorials, all of them are quite simple to follow for a noob like me
I've follow this tutorial, but I don't know if I must keep the yocto instalation or do I have to install ubuntu over everything. I've done the first one, but I don't know if this could use more resources, like space!! I did have to empty my temp files once during the procedure
I installed Ubuntu over everything and removed Yocto. I did manage to easily switch back to Yocto by installing the Yocto image from USB. Hope this helps!
