LTE Modem Compatibility

I was curious if the Fibocom L850-GL LTE Modem is compatible with the Intel Aero drone? I connected it to my system and ran the following command:

mmcli -m 0

Many of the fields appear as 'unknown'. I will attach the full output for reference.

Thanks,

Hi yoshiioko,

I'm not sure if the Fibocom L850-GL was tested but any M.2 LTE modems should work. Can you verify that you are using the latest software/firmware? If you can please provide the output of get_aero_version.py

You can find additional details on enabling LTE modem at the following link, you may have already seen the wiki article already.

Here is my output for get_aero_version.py:

BIOS_VERSION = Aero-01.00.13

OS_VERSION = Poky Aero (Intel Aero Linux Distro) 1.5.1 (pyro)"

AIRMAP_VERSION = 1.8

FPGA_VERSION = 0xc1

Yes I did follow the steps in that wiki. It does mention that the recommended chipset is Intel's XMM 7160, and it looks like the L850-GL is based on the 7360. Would this cause an issue?

Let me check with the engineering team if the 7360 chipset would be an issue. I will get back to you as soon as I hear back from them.

Hi yoshiioko,

Chipset 7360 should not be an issue but the Fibocom L850-GL LTE Modem was not tested with the Aero platform. The following document lists the LTE modems that have been tested.
