Obtain raw GPS values

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to extract the raw gps data (lat, lon, and time) from the drone. I know that there's software that can run on a laptop that when connected to the drone it provides the data (qgroundcontrol, APM) but I'm looking for something that runs directly on the drone. I have the drone running ubuntu. I was able to extract the imu data from the drone using a code that I found that connects to the imu through the spidev interface. It runs directly on the drone and prints out the imu values in real time so if I were to move the drone it would display the changes in gyroscope and accelerometer values. I was wondering if there was a way to do something similar with the gps. I would like for the code to run directly off the drone meaning that I could just run it on the drone's command line and not through a groundstation. Is there some sort of program that does this or is there some sort of api that allows me to do this. Thank you.

The GPS module is connected directly to the flight controller. To access the GPS data, you would need to use an API like dronekit or mavlink to get GPS information. You can start there then look at the mavlink or dronekit manual for additional commands/arguments.
