Read Lidar Lite 3 from Ubuntu through I2C (in the Aero drone)

Dear Sir,

In order to implement our own Optical Flow algorithm, we'll need to use the Lidar Lite 3 (which we already purchased).

Do you know how to read the Lidar from Ubuntu through I2C? Preferably through Mavros.

The following link only explains how to connect it to the drone: https://docs.px4.io/en/flight_controller/intel_aero.html https://docs.px4.io/en/flight_controller/intel_aero.html

Thank you, Yoni

Hello, Yoni

Thank you for contacting Intel Customer Support.

You will need to build a custom FPGA config to configure i2c access. Once the i2c is configured, the i2c device can be accessed by spi_xfer as shown in the following doc:

https://github.com/intel-aero/meta-intel-aero/wiki/95-(References)-FPGA# i2c https://github.com/intel-aero/meta-intel-aero/wiki/95-(References)-FPGA# i2c

You can also take a look at the fpga sample:

Regards,
