Dear Sir,
I would like to ask you some questions about your Aero Ready to Fly Architecture. I read in your forum through your slides that is possible to connect others devices to the on board platform. Here some questions:
- I would like to substitute the on board gps , with another one that support egnos/waas and rtk features, can you suggest me any product ?
- I read about the moevius board for image processing, can you tell me more about how to connect to your platform and some more details about this kind of application
- Moreover I am interested to connect others sensors like laser lidar or barometer like you suggest on your slides and I would like to have more informations how to connect these sensors and what kind of manufactures are suitable for this integration

Hi Luca1976,
Thank you for your interest in the Intel Aero drone.
- You can replace the GPS with a new one, as long as it is sending NMEA messages
- Can you give more details about what you are trying to accomplish and share the link where you read about this board?
- Here you can find more information on how to connect a lidar sensor:
https://docs.px4.io/en/flight_controller/intel_aero.html
Regards,
Alexandra

Dear alexandra,
I found this information to the following link:
https://github.com/intel-aero/Documents/blob/master/course/pdf/B3%20-%20Autonomous%20Drone%20Enginee... Documents/B3 - Autonomous Drone Engineer - Architecture - 3D and visual sensors.pdf at master · intel-aero/Documents · G…
in the section about the collision avoidance function.

Hi Luca1976,
I am sorry, but that was a typo.I was asking about question number 2.
Regarding question number 1, you can use any GPS of your choice, as long as it is sending NMEA messages.

Alexandra

Dear Alexandra,
about my question N.2, in the document that i linked : https://github.com/intel-aero/Documents/blob/master/course/pdf/B3%20-%20Autonomous%20Drone%20Enginee... Documents/B3 - Autonomous Drone Engineer - Architecture - 3D and visual sensors.pdf at master · intel-aero/Documents · G… , there is an example of integration into the DJI Sparks drone of the following board "Intel's Movidius™ Myriad™ 2 VPU" (https://www.movidius.com/solutions/vision-processing-unit Vision Processing Unit | Machine Vision Technology | Movidius). I would like to know how to link this board to Intel Aero Compute Board?
Regards
Luca

Hi Luca1976,
Thank you for the clarification.
You can integrate an Intel Movidius Neural Compute stick, just by plugging the stick to Intel Aero with a USB2-OTG cable. You can find instructions here:
https://github.com/intel-aero/meta-intel-aero/wiki/07-Movidius-Neural-Compute-Stick

Dear Alexandra,
thanks for your fast answer. I read about the Intel Movidius Neural Compute stick, but in this case I can only deplau Neural Network, while if I use a Myriad X VPU with the development kit, I can deploy other types of algorithm. Do you think it is possible to integrate on your drone this board and how?
regards
Luca

Hi Luca1976,
It should be possible but it hasn't been tested/confirmed yet at this point.
You can look through our technical documents to see if it's compatible and you can let the community know your results.
Regards,
Alexandra
