USB3.0 port broken - Is it possible to use a different USB interface?

Hi,

unfortunately broke the USB3.0 OTG Connector of the Aero Compute Board is broken after a crash of our drone. As the soldering pads are torn-off the PCB we can't solder a new USB3.0 connector to the board.

So I checked the dokumentation and found out that the RealSense port is also a native USB3.0 port and that the M.2 connector provides a USB2.0 interface.

My question is, is it possible to make a costum adapter and use one of those interfaces to connect other USB devices directly to the Intel Aero Board?

Thanks a lot in advance and best regards

Markus

Thank you for your interest in the Intel Aero drone.

Could you please send me a photo of the board?

Hi Alexandra,

please find a picture of our board below. I've marked the torn-off soldering pads in red.

Best regards

Hi MarLi,

Thank you for the picture. If you could send the board for repair, that would be the best option.

We haven't tested this in the lab, so we can't guarantee it will work.

You can try if you want, and post the results on the community.

Regards,

Alexandra
