Hi Roman,

Thanks for reaching out.

According to this guide: https://software.intel.com/sites/default/files/managed/25/d5/Intel-Aero-Compute-Board-Getting-Starte..., the USB port is 3.0, so I think you should have problems connecting the camera, but you need to install the right drivers on the image.

If you need more help with it, please provide us more information about your project.

Have a nice day.

Regards,

-Leonardo

Dear Leonardo,

Thank you for your reply.

I have just figured out that the board lacks IMU and PWM, i.e., an external FCU is required anyways.

Hence, probably Joule would be a better choice for our project - it's in the area of industrial inspection using vision based drone navigation.

I would appreciate if you could compare Intel Aero Platform to Intel Joule (MIPI interface aside).

Thank you,

Roman

Hi Roman,

Just to clarify, the Aero contains an IMU in its board, and yes you have to use a Flight Controller with it.

About the comparison, these are 2 different boards with different features, you can find the information of each one in the following links:

Intel® Joule™: https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/joule

Intel® Aero Compute Board: https://software.intel.com/en-us/aero/dev-kit

I hope you find this information helpful.

Regards,
