Using the RealSense R200 on its own?

Jump to solution

I can see several examples of people using the R200 online through a USB adapter/connector, but the Aero package ships the camera tied to the Intel Aero, with no way to connect it other than straight to the board.

I broke a crucial piece of the Intel Flight Controller, so now the entire package is useless. However, I'd like to salvage the camera for more direct use. Is there any way to use the R200 directly, into a USB port, on a computer that isn't an Intel board?

Hello VZafi, Thank you for your interest in the Intel Aero Ready to Fly drone. The RealSense R200 module for Aero was designed to be compatible with Aero Compute Board. You can find the Pin definition for the connector on the Aero Board here - https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/drones/development-drones/intel-aero-compu... at page number 9 3.5.1 Connector Pin Definition. You can build a connector for it, but unfortunately we do not support that. The best option in this case will be to either use the R200 module with an Intel Aero Compute Board, or to buy an RealSense Camera that has an USB connection. You can buy the RealSense Products from Intel Authorized Distributors: https://realsense.intel.com/buy-now/ Thank you and best regards, Eliza
