What is each serial port used for

Jump to solution

Hello,

I was just curious as to what each of the ttyS* ports were connected to on the Intel Aero. If I recall correctly, ttyS1 is used to communicate with the flight controller, but what are the other 3 used for.

Hi JorgeG,

On the Aero RTF Drone, ttyS1 is used to communicate to the flight controller. On the Aero Compute board, ttyS1 is exposed on the power + HSUART cable. ttyS0 and ttyS2 are reserved and cannot be used.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Regards,

Alexandra

I understand, thank you. Also I just want to ask what ttyS0 and ttyS2 are reserved for. Are they actually being used or are they just not accessible. What purpose do they serve

Hi JorgeG,

You can program the FPGA and modify it to your needs:
