Hello, I was just wondering what version of Ubuntu is recommended to be installed on the Aero. I see on the wiki that Ubuntu 16.04.3 Desktop is recommended for the Aero but can I install any other one. Would there be any problem installing 16.04.4 for example

Hello JorgeG,
Thank you for your interest in the Intel Aero Ready to Fly drone.
Yes, you are right. The recommend version of Ubuntu is 16.04.3.
You can still install any Ubuntu 16.04.x version, but you may or may not encounter some issues with the applications.
Please let us know if you have further questions.
Thank you,
Eliza

Thank you for the information Eliza, I really appreciate it.
And thanks to you Irieblue. I also have a question for you. Are there any issues you notice when running that version of Ubuntu. Or is everything largely the same.

That version of UBUNTU has been rock solid. I have had it up and running non stop for 21 days without reboot. I also have the Aero board connected via USB Ethernet adapter. I access the aero often via ssh/scp.
Intel is really to be commended for getting Ubuntu on the board, as it makes for rapid development and prototyping.
Most of the subsystems I am working with (CANBUS/Cellular) have not needed patches from more current kernels.
