how to add ultrasonic sensor to the aero rtf drone

Jump to solution

Hi

for optical flow implementation -

can I add an ultrasonic sensor instead of lidar lite sensor?

Would I need to make any configuration changes to use the ultrasonic sensor for optical flow in addition to the bottom facing camera?

OR

is it that optical flow position hold can only be implemented by using the lidar lite sensor or px4flow module?

Thanks

Ambika

Hi Ambika,

Thank you for your interest in the Intel Aero drone.

This sensor has not been tested for optical flow. It depends on the type of interface the sensor uses. You might need to create a new FPGA configuration to add the interface if it is not available with the default FPGA configuration.

You should test it and post the results in the Community.

Regards,

Alexandra

Hi Alexandra,

Thanks!

Could you direct me to the files where the sensor interface configuration is defined (I believe it is I2C interface for the lidar lite sensor) so that I can make the changes.
