I am experiencing trouble using p2p mode on intel aero platform. I can bring up the board in p2p GO mode but when I try to connect the other board as p2p client, I see this:
root@intel-aero:~# wpa_cli status
Selected interface 'p2p-wlan0-0'
I am following the instructions from an intel edison wifi guide for p2p mode.
Can somebody let me know if I can use p2p mode on intel aero?
Thanks for your interest in the Intel® Aero™ Platform.
Please let me investigate if the Intel® Aero™ supports P2P. I will contact you back as soon as I have some useful information.
Have a nice day!
Could you be so kind to provide us more detail on why you are attempting to use P2P with the Aero?
We will be waiting for your reply, have a nice day!
Thanks for getting back to me.
I am trying to set up a link between two peers at 5 GHz for a project I am working on. It doesn't have to be p2p mode, it can be in ibss, managed or any other mode that supports 5 Ghz.
Thanks for sharing this information, please let us investigate in order to see what we can suggest, so you will be able to achieve your project goals.
We appreciate your patience, have a nice day!
Unfortunately, P2P is not supported on Aero. We recommend using Aero in Client mode and using another device that can act as an access point in 5GHz, you should be able to connect to the access point.
We hope you find this information useful, have a nice day!
