wifi stopped working

Hi,

I updated the Aero linux distro to 1.6.1 and reinstalled Ububntu, according to:

https://github.com/intel-aero/meta-intel-aero/wiki/90-(References)-OS-user-Installation 90 (References) OS user Installation · intel-aero/meta-intel-aero Wiki · GitHub

Please also see pic attached.

After that the wifi in Ubuntu stopped working (in Yocto it's ok).

Please advise.

Thank you, Yoni.

Hi Yoni,

do you have a stable WiFi connection on Yocto when the drone is AP ?

Because we also installed 1.6.1 on our board and we already have problems on Yocto, we connect with laptop to the drone but then it disconnects in a min or two and then connects again and disconnects.

BR.

The Ubuntu distro doesn't come standard with the driver for the intel 8260 wireless adapter installed on the aero. You'll need to download iwlwifi-8000-27 or iwlwifi-8000-31. Transfer it to the aero via usb then sudo mv it to the ~/lib/firmware directory. Then reboot and you should be good to go

Hi Yoni,

Please try not to select Wi-Fi when installing Ubuntu.

Try leaving the default settings when installing Ubuntu and let me know if that fixes your issue.

Hi Alexandra,

I installed the driver from the following link in the /lib/firmware directory

https://github.com/wkennington/linux-firmware/blob/master/iwlwifi-8000C-31.ucode linux-firmware/iwlwifi-8000C-31.ucode at master · wkennington/linux-firmware · GitHub

Now it's ok.

Thank you, Yoni.
