Intel Arc A770 BSOD ntkrnlmp.exe

Ever since the GPU had been installed in my system, not a single game can run more than 10-20 seconds, after which it will go to BSOD.

Access Violations happen in the browser (Chrome to be specific).

Some of the BSOD stop codes that happened:

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

The problem however does not happen when running:

Furmark

MSI Kombustor

Heaven

Crystal Disk Info shows 100% and 98% health on my SSD drives.

MemTest86 ran three passes of the entire suite of tests without any errors.

Chkdsk also didn't report any problems

Windows Memory Diagnostics didn't report any problems.

I had severe problems where the entire system was unstable using the 2.20 ASRock drivers.

After installing beta 2.22 drivers, the system is much more stable but the games cannot run for any "playable" duration of time without BSOD.

When analyzing the memdump using WinDbg it seems that ntkrnlmp.exe is usually the culprit.

BIOS list:

Memdumps:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1AUrZtFj3HjVEipSrEKEccxGfJdJMqzSB?usp=sharing

EDIT:

It seems that repairing windows fixed the BSOD issue, however the games just won't run.

I can hear coil whine every single time the game starts and then it crashes (the coil whine can be heard in benchmarks as well but those don't crash).

EDIT:

BSOD is still happening, added a new memdump in the new folder on the same link.

stornvme.sys is the last thing that crashed.

Hi Aleksa1511,

Thank you for posting in the communities!

I will further investigate on the fil dumps you provided regarding to the issues you're experiencing on your system.

For us to try and replicate the issue, may I know what games you're trying to play?

Have you already tried rolling back you GPU drivers to check if the games will work on old drivers?

Are you performing DDU when installing or updating your graphics drivers?

Have you tested if the games work on your integrated GPU?

Once we have this information, we will be able to proceed with the next course of action and work towards resolving the issue you are facing.

Hi Aleksa1511,

according to your SSU report you're running the latest beta BIOS/UEFI? Shouldn't be a problem then - have you tried cross-checking your RAM in another system? Those errors you mentioned would likely correlate to your RAM, maybe chipset drivers or CPU/mainboard. stornvme.sys would also point to the SSD - is it a Samsung 970 EVO by chance without firmware updates?

  • To summarize - if possible, test your RAM in another machine.
  • Run Samsung Magician and check for firmware updates - if applicable.
  • If possible, try another PSU with your system and another GPU in that system with your original PSU

Please check your SSD first, as if it's a 970 they tend to drop like flies without the latest firmware. Check everthing else then and please report back.
