Hello,
I’m experiencing graphical issues when playing Counter-Strike 2 on Ubuntu using an Intel® B580 GPU.
Issue Description:
The Counter-Terrorist character models appear corrupted. Sometimes their body textures or geometry render incorrectly.
Random black artifacts also appear intermittently on the screen during gameplay. (seems to be a problem only with leaves from plants, maybe the movement shader for the slight movement in the wind?)
The issue persists across different game settings (low to high).
System Information:
I’ve attached the Intel® System Support Utility for Linux* log file for reference, along with several screenshots that demonstrate the problem.
Any guidance or potential fixes would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Blitzos,
Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. I appreciate your message and want to assure you that I’m here to help. To better understand the issue and provide accurate support, could you please share the following details:
- Have you updated the graphics driver to the latest version released on January 9, 2025?
- When did this issue first occur? Was it after a recent system or driver update?
- What kernel version are you currently using?
- Does this happen in other games or only in CS2?
- What CS2 launch parameters are you using?
- Does the issue occur immediately upon starting the game, after playing for a while, or only on specific maps?
- What is your current graphics configuration? Have you tried different graphics settings?
- Are you running any graphics-related software, such as overlays?
- Are there any custom compositor settings applied?
- What are your GPU temperatures during gameplay?
Additionally, please let me know if you have tried:
- Using different kernel versions
- Disabling hardware acceleration in other applications
If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

- I just had a fresh install of ubuntu 22.04 and then upgraded to 24.04 and then updated the kernel etc to version 6.14
- This was the first time i ever tried to game on my system with ubuntu, before i was using win10 with no problems.
- 6.14
- So far I only tried to play CS2. Also new problem, when i played a match of wingman, i wasn't able to truly join the game. I was stuck at spawn and the viewmodel turned after like 1 or 2 seconds by 90 degreese and i wasn't able to move. Wasn't able to shot and then disconnected from the game.
- none
- Always and all the time. Already happening in the main menu, where there is a 3d rendered game map and player model.
Also quite weird is, that only some models have partially invisible bodies. - It was visible imediatly after boot and stayed there after changeing settings. Game also crashed once during changeing the settings.
- Only the steam own overlay to see fps, but the problem was there before, when it wasn disabled.
- compositor? I just have a quite fresh install and basically have nothing installed except steam.
- Any software i looked at didn't show me temps, but when i switched back to my old win10 install everything was fine.
