Hello, I'm currently using an Arc A750 with the latest drivers 32.0.101.6130 (10/29), connected to an AOC 24G2W1G4 monitor with FreeSync enabled over Displayport 1.2.
Previously, Arc Control supported Variable Refresh Rate between 48Hz - 144Hz for monitor with driver versions 32.0.101.6083 (10/7) and earlier.
However, Arc Control no longer supports Variable Refresh Rate for my monitor after driver versions for driver versions 32.0.101.6127 (10/18) and later.
Here is a list of driver configurations I have tested:
32.0.101.6130 (10/29, latest): No VRR support
32.0.101.6129 (10/24): No VRR support
32.0.101.6127 (10/18): No VRR support
32.0.101.6083 (10/7): VRR supported (confirmed twice)
32.0.101.6078 (9/24, WHQL Certified): VRR supported
To reproduce the issue, all I need to do is update the Intel Arc driver version from 32.0.101.6083 (10/7) to 32.0.101.6127 (10/18) using a clean installation. I can also reproduce the issue in the reverse direction by downgrading the driver version.
SSU is attached.

Hello canadagoose,
Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.
For me to further check this, please help provide the following details:
- Are you using an Intel brand Arc A750?
- If you will rollback the drivers, can you still enable Variable Refresh Rate?
- Aside from the drivers, what are the troubleshooting steps that you tried?
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
Best regards,
Michael L.

Hi Michael,
1. Yes, I'm using an Intel Arc A750 LE.
2. Yes, if I rollback to an older driver (32.0.101.6083 or earlier), Arc Control allows me to set VRR to "enabled" for the monitor. If I switch back to a more recent driver, Arc Control returns to saying "Not Supported."
3. I have not tried additional steps aside from rebooting the PC between each driver installation (clean installation) and powering the monitor on/off. The monitor settings and hardware configuration remain the same between runs, only the driver version changes.
Thanks.

Hello canadagoose,
Thank you for the update.
Can you try the Graphics Driver again however this time using the clean driver installation method using DDU?

Hi Mike,
I performed the following procedure:
- Reboot PC to Safe Mode
- Use DDU v18.0.8.8 (latest) to completely uninstall Intel Graphics drivers and previous GPU drivers
- Reboot PC to standard mode
- Install Intel Arc Drivers 32.0.101.6319 (latest)
However, Arc Control still displays Variable Refresh Rate as "Not supported" for the monitor:
I've attached a new SSU report as well.
Thanks

Hi Michael,
Thank you for the link, but I already confirmed that my hardware and monitor settings are correct because VRR works with older Intel Arc drivers (32.0.101.6083 or older).
I checked with the latest drivers (32.0.101.6325) and new Intel Graphics Software, but the same issue persists:
I also attached an updated SSU.

Hi, the same happens on my Acer Predator XB253QGP even with the last driver and new control app.
Any ideas on how to solve the issue?
With orders driver I was able to activate the VRR.
Edit.
In my case I resolved using DDU before a clean install of the new driver.
Thanks,
Alessio

I can confirm I have this same issue with the same monitor, and an intel branded a750.
I am using a fresh windows install with only the latest graphics driver installed (6325).

I have now tried on Linux (Kubuntu), and VRR seems to be working. I am able to select adaptive sync, and running a VRR test, it looks fine to my eyes. So this does seem to be specific to the Windows drivers for me, which is unfortunate, as I get consistently better gaming performance on Windows when using this GPU.

Hello canadagoose,
I hope you are having a good day.
Let me share this link, it is Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) 'Not Supported' in Intel® Arc™ Control.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for the link, but you already shared this link previously and I have already taken a look at it; the article did not resolve my issue.
I will address each of the points mentioned in the article:
> Verify the HDMI input on the Display is HDMI 2.1 standard.
As mentioned in my original post, I am using Displayport 1.2 with Freesync enabled, and previously had no issues with VRR support when using older Intel Arc drivers. In other words, the hardware setup (monitor and cable) is correct.
> The display must also support VESA Adaptive Sync since this is the VRR supported by Intel Arc A-Series / B-Series GPUs.
Once again, the hardware setup (monitor and cable) including Freesync were working previously, and only stopped working when I updated Intel Arc drivers.
> Once you have verified your display supports the standard, contact your display manufacturer.
VRR stopped working only after updating the Intel Arc drivers, so it pretty clearly does not seem like a display issue to me.
My only question is this:
Can someone within Intel please look at what changed between driver versions 32.0.101.6078 (9/24) and 32.0.101.6127 (10/18) in terms of display VRR support?
Thank you.
