Quiet 3-6 seconds, then ramping up, going down 3-6 seconds and so on.

Or you may simply download the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software so I can check your system configuration. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.
- Scan: Check the box Everything.
- Click Scan.
- Review: When finished scanning, click Next.

Hello esarparn,
Good day!
I'm still currently checking on this and would need the following information from you:
- Can you still recall when this issue started?
- When does this behavior happen? Is it during processing high workload such as intense games or application processing? Does this behavior have a patterned time such only happening during boot cycle? Randomly Ramping up and down?
- Can you please share a video when the behavior starts?
I hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

The issue is that as soon as the card reaches 50 degrees Celsius, the fans start ramping up and as soon as the temp goes to 49 degrees they stop for about 3-5 seconds, long enough for the temp to reach 50 and so on...it's extremely annoying and not even custom fancurve helps.

Hi @esarparn,
Thank you for your patience. I have completed the investigation into the issue of the Intel Arc graphics card fans ramping up and down frequently.
This behavior is normal and expected. The fluctuations in fan speed while the system is idle are unlikely to significantly affect the longevity of the fans. It's important to ensure that the fan rotation speed (RPM) remains within a reasonable range during these periods.
The findings on this issue has been published here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000101249/graphics.html
I'll proceed to close this case now and this thread will no longer be monitored. If you have any other inquiries, feel free to create a new thread or contact Intel Customer Support directly.
Regards,

"The fluctuations in fan speed while the system is idle are unlikely to significantly affect the longevity of the fans"
I'm sure it won't affect fan life, but that is NOT the issue, it is annoying as heck having a fan ramp up and down in a otherwise quiet room.
If that really is per design (I would classify this a bug or design fault) with no 'fix' in the works then I'm going to return my card.
Keeping the fan at a higher rpm would be acceptable, ramping up and down for no reason is terribly annoying.
