Unable to install XE 2016 on Ubuntu 14.04

Just a "Something wrong with package", nothing else.  Tried offline install, same thing.

This is a DigitalOcean instance.

Did you use "root" or sudo to install the package? It is a possible an executable permission issue.

Yes I did.  No, it's not.

I can provide log the installer createed under /tmp actually, but I'm not sure about whether these logs contains sensitive information about my server.
