I need to compile some open source software for my lab. Its mainly things like Python, Perl, and tcl.
Does anyone have any recommendations or tips/tricks to have a clean compiled binaries?

You don't give any details to help us guess what you want. Can you build them by the standard configuration with gcc? By "clean" do you mean shutting off warnings, after switching to icc?
