I think I am missing something pretty fundamental. My Compute Stick STCK1A8LFC only has 1 USB port. All the bios update instructions require you to use a bootable USB flash drive, boot to it and then use the keyboard. My Bluetooth keyboard is non-responsive and I must disconnect the wireless keyboard to put the flash drive in. Do I need to buy a USB hub to make this work, or is there someway to ovoid that?

No, you will need a USB hub. Since you are connecting only keyboard, mouse and USB flash stick, you won't need a powered hub, so this should be fairly cheap. Amazon has a USB 2.0 hub for less than US$6 and a USB 3.0 hub for less than US$10.

I think I will cut my losses with this stupid thing. I made a bootable flash drive, set the bios up to boot to it, but it totally ignored it. There is no assurance that updating the bios will fix it and will more likely brick it. Time to move on, I've wasted too much time with it already.

Send it to me; I have grandkids who would love to have it! 😉

Send me an address and postage. I will keep the power supply as I need one, but they are easy to get.
